Master of Rice Ball — Restaurant in Zhongzheng District

This review is very biased because I’ve lived in Taiwan and absolutely love the food. Not sure how pickier eaters would respond.

This is an absolutely delicious breakfast! We tried the signature, and the egg balls. You can add egg to any of the rolls for an additional price, and I would recommend it! They’re hard boiled soy-marinated, and absolutely delicious. I’m a huge fan of the additional Chinese donut (fried stick) for texture in the roll. Large portion that will keep you full. Some people in my group said they would like more filling to rice ratio, but I love glutinous rice and thought it was perfect.

It’s good, and I’ve been going for 10 years... but recently, the horrible old women in the grey coat has got my order wrong every time. This is never happened before. I even get off the MRT specially to buy it. She literally tells me what I want, does it wrong, while the nice young person behind the counter can’t do anything, but get on. This woman drives me insane... even the other tourists knew what I wanted and just said sorry, as they could speak Chinese. I think, if that old woman stopped to look at me, she can see the difference between I WANT and I DONT WANT... she just thinks everything I say is I DONT WANT. She is so deaf that she can’t hear 我要. This place must have the most delicious rice balls at the most reasonable prices !!!! I bought a sweet and salty rice ball (半鹹半甜飯糰）, planning to have it for lunch on my last day in taiwan, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to bring it back to my country and had it for supper a good 12 hrs later. Other than the dough stick （油條），going soggy due to it being wrapped in the rice ball for a good 12 hrs, everything else was still perfect...perhaps the rice was harder compared to eating it fresh. I love the combination of the sweet peanut powder and the salty and crunchy pickle vegetables. It was soo good stale that I regretted not eating it fresh and buying...
