Phuket Walking Street—locally known as Lard Yai Market—is a vibrant weekly night market that transforms Thalang Road in Phuket Old Town into a colorful pedestrian-only fair every Sunday from about 4 PM to around 10 PM .

🏮 Why Lard Yai is a must‑visit

Heritage Setting: The market runs along a 350–360 m stretch lined with beautifully restored Sino‑Portuguese shophouses, bathed in shifting neon lights—an Instagram dream come true .

Iconic Entrance Gate: Look for the wooden, Chinese‑styled gate by the Phuket Road end of Thalang Road, with “Lardyai” written in Thai, Chinese, and English—a popular selfie spot .

Food Stalls Galore: You’ll find regional treats like grilled pork, chicken, and squid skewers; fruit juices and Thai sweets (like mango sticky rice and khanom); and adventurous bites—locals even sample horseshoe crab salad! .

Shopping & Souvenirs: Browse handmade T‑shirts, custom flip-flops, novelty toys, jewelry, accessories, printed fabrics, and more—often by young local entrepreneurs .

On the street in the Old Town of Phuket town, Thalang Road is lightly lit at night, but it is even more colorful on Sunday night. On Sundays, they will seal the entire road to Walk Street. The Thai name is Lardyai. It means a large market.

It was not a new attraction. The road closure was more extensive. On Saturdays and Sundays, residents complained that the road closure had caused them a lot of inconvenience, so the Street Street was adjusted. It is only open on Sunday night.

There are many performers performing arts on the street. There are wild sellers and wild foods. It is very good to take pictures. Because of this, some of the shops mentioned in the previous section will be closed. If you plan to visit these stores, it is best to change the time. Although some stores are not open, there are still other different vendors on this day, and the atmosphere is very good.

OPEN: Sundays...
