BCH Outdoor — Local services in Bath

I needed to buy some camping equipment at short notice after one I ordered got lost by the courier, and called BCH that morning to find out about stock. I went through to the Trowbridge shop as the Bath one hadn't quite opened yet, and spoke with Eric who very kindly looked up stock at the Bath shop, and then called them after speaking to me to ask them to put one aside for me. He also gave me some very helpful advice about options, recommending the cheaper option for what I needed.

When I arrived at the Bath shop, they had my item ready, but also mentioned an alternative that was even cheaper, just slightly heavier. The gentleman working there helped me weigh up the options based on the kind of camping trip we needed it for, and I went with the cheaper option again. It was for my partner who said it was perfect for what he needed.

I ended up spending less than half of what I would have paid without all their help and advice. This company and its employees are absolutely amazing, and also so friendly and kind. I'm not really the target audience for their products but I keep wanting to go back and shop there just because of how great the experience was!

Popped in to take a look at a Paramo jacket that I've been considering for a while. I wanted to see how they fit and would have probably not purchased it as I'm terribly indecisive when it comes to things like this. The guy in the shop was super knowledgeable and didn't put any pressure on me to buy, let me try on multiple items and talked me through how they work. Because of his advice and his friendly approach I bought the jacket and am feeling only a fraction of the buyers remorse I would normally feel. I can't afford food for the rest of the month but at least I'll be warm and dry on walks. I'm the sort of person that rarely buys from shops because things online are cheaper and it's easier to click buy, but the experience today shows how important it is to speak to a real person, try something on in a store and hopefully keep shops...

Incredibly knowledgeable about stock and very helpful. Used trekking poles this afternoon and back hasn't felt so good in weeks.
