What an experience - this isn’t a good point. Seeing how we’re supporting our local pubs in this pandemic to be treated like children on arrival and during is pathetic. Rude front of house staff member dulling the whole experience. I understand controlling drunk people who can’t handle their drink can be like herding cats but for the majority of people enjoying themselves was shadowed by over reacting bouncers and security staff. Can’t say we’re heading back anytime soon sorry for supporting the local. The only reason I’m giving two stars rather than one as there was only a handful of staff who brought it up to this level. Try the Westgate much more accommodating! "Simple as this, if you don't like the way we work and the policies/procedures we have put in place to keep the pub legal and the staff/customers safe, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it, we will remain consistent" Consistently rude great work hope it plans out well for you.

We stopped off before a gig at the Forum (this is a great location if you are going to an event there as only a five minute walk away) - not been here before but we will definitely go there again when we can. We just wanted a no fuss kinda place that did good food without having to wait forever (cos of going to the Forum) - the barman was really friendly, a good laugh, and really made the visit a lot of fun. The food was well priced (it's Bath!) and turned up really quickly... And..... It was really good food. We all enjoyed it, and the atmosphere of the pub (sun was outside so we were in the beer garden as you can see) - highly recommended... Great food, great fun.... Thank you so much!! Cheers 🍻

This place looked so promising last time we visited for drinks, we thought this time to sample the gorgeous looking food. Oh dear.... 🙁 Service was average - only 1 on the bar that had to run the drinks also. Table was uncleared and sticky so I cleaned it myself as staff were thin on the ground. Shared nachos looked the part but chips were stale. Mushrooms were so over cooked a fork wouldn't go through them. Chips were the frozen kind 😔 But in all fairness, the Cumberland sausage small plate was tasty and well cooked. So I suppose it was OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

My friend n l had lunch here today As usual everywhere looked clean n tidy. Was not overly crowded Had great atmosphere. Friend ordered our lunches n not long after, lunches arrived. Wished my scampi chips n peas were on a larger plate, but that was explained why it wasn't. I realised the issue as l used to work front n back of house tho front of house was my main job. Peas on my plate were awful, seemed over cooked or something, they did not taste good at all, and l love peas. Waiter came over to see if we were happy with our meals My friend's curry was good. Told him about the peas and asked him to taste them..he went to see the Manager. He offered free dessert. Which was nice of him, but we had to catch bus back home. The Manager came to our table and handed me full refund, and we chatted, told him It was not what l wanted l was happy for the price of peas to be deducted, but no, He wouldn't have it. And said for me to accept the refund. I felt awful taking it, as it was Just the Peas that was the problem! I have to say, for the first time in my life, l felt guilty taking the refund. Iv a sense of humour so as l picked up the refund after the manager had gone back, l noticed small change 'lp' was a foreign coin! 😄 Should l have asked him to swap it over 😄 no! So l left it on the table. : ) Thank you again so much for your kind generosity From Maggi. As the saying goes 'we...

It was my Birthday today, I met with a friend in Swindon then quickly hot footed it down to Bath. I loved the City, the people, the shops and then needed a bit of a refuel, so stumbled upon this lovely pub, we were gunna go to Weatherspoons but came across this first. On entering, we were welcomed, smiling friendly staff, VERY quick service and the quality of the food is OFF the scale, we had the Bacon and Cheese burgers, which was probably THE best burger I've eaten in my entire 51 years on my life!, the food was hot, properly cooked, well presented and probably worth twice the amount it was, £4.25 each, for a gastro burger?, Best £4.25 I've ever spent and that's the truth. The staff made SURE we were comfortable and happy, they were actually taking pride in their jobs. ONLY things I found wrong was the decor looks tired, but someone has to pay for it to be done up, and so that's excusable due to the great prices, but the one thing that did let it down was the absolute STINK in the men's loos, I only went in to wash my hands, which I did, but almost vomited with the absolute stench of urine in there, a shame really, top marks for everything else, but please, give your cleaners a kick up the Kyber and maintain your loos, they look clean, but I can't impress enough how bad that smell way, it literally...

Honestly , the new landlords are lovely people, and they've really tried to get this place up to scratch , however it's definitely falling shy of what myself and most others would expect of a pub that charges almost a fiver on a pint.

However that's not actually what ruined my experience here, the new manager (purple haired guy) is plain rude, this is the ONLY establishment in bath that have told me that I cannot be seated until the manager has looked through my phone and invaded my privacy to make sure I have checked into the establishment, I checked in Infront of a staff member , she witnessed me do so , but she said "i can see that but he (the manager) insists he checks people's phones aswell" .. does he not trust his staff, does he consider the customers to be liars? I also asked a staff member if I could switch tables which he happily permissed, but the manager came storming over to my table to tell me that I'm lucky he has space, and that I should ask him next time, and not other staff members.. it made me feel like a criminal, sadly I won't be returning, and others I spoke to at the trinity down the road told me the same sort of stories about this manager, he clearly struggles with the stress and is a control freak, hopefully things change .. but I doubt i will return to see...
