Tempo — Local services in Bath

We had an absolutely brilliant time here for my son’s birthday. Four of us, two adults and two teenagers aged 16 and 14. It was our first ever escape room and we were all a bit nervous arriving, but Noel our host immediately struck the perfect balance of being in character and setting the scene but simultaneously putting us at ease.

The storyline was fun and immersive and the room had such a cool design. The puzzles were really clever and immensely satisfying to work out, with elements that appealed to each of our strengths – getting even more exciting as our hour ticked by. There were a couple of (mildly) scary moments that we’d been a bit anxious about in advance, but they just made the experience even more fun. The final minutes were a total mad panic but we solved the final clues and escaped with seconds to spare (and with a few gentle hints along the way from Noel which were really well pitched.) We really liked the opportunity to chat to him afterwards and he talked us through anything we might have missed.

We were all buzzing afterwards and haven’t stopped talking about it. Genuinely one of the best things we’ve done as a family – and a ten minute walk from our house! We can’t wait to do the new room planned to open in 2022. I think we’re all now hooked on escape rooms – although a bit worried that others we try won’t live up to this...

I have done a few escapes rooms in Bath and other locations and, without a doubt, this one in Bath stands out as the best and has secured a spot on my favourites list. Our game master, Noel, was in character from the moment we got in and his entusiasm was contageous. The rooms are very well thought out and well decorated according to the theme. The variety and type of puzzles surprised me and it gave each member of your team an opportunity to shine. It offered a challenging but very fun experience. We managed to escape rougly around the 57 minute mark. The clues were given at the right time and not super obvious allowing us to make progress while still having the fun of figuring things out. Overall, we had a very positive experience! If you are an escape room fan or you would like to try one for the first time, Tempo Escape Room is an excellent option. First things, first; this escape room is probably more expensive than your average room, particularly when playing as a pair. Luckily though, this isn't your average escape room and the top tier price is more than matched by a top tier experience so if you're in two minds about whether or not it might be worth it...it most definitely is in my humble opinion.

The variety of puzzles that make up Eternal Life are all incredibly well thought through and provide an almost perfect level of difficulty - nothing so easy that it makes your eyes roll, nothing difficult it makes your brain hurt.

The theming throughout is consistent and adds so much to the overall experience in terms of immersion, this goes for Noel too (our host) who was hilariously off the wall from the moment we were off the street.

If you can't tell, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this escape room and will absolutely be back as soon as the second room...
