The restaurant was quite quiet when we arrived at 18:15 but it gradually filled up with people. Itâs not the most atmospheric of restaurants but Iâm not sure that that is a problem.
I canât complain about the service we received. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. The main waiter was very impressive in noting the orders without writing them down and there were no issues with the order (Iâd definitely have to write it down). One of the tables had an issue getting the attention of the two waiters but this was because they were in the middle of serving the main meal to the largest table in the restaurant.
The food was uniformly excellent with each dish being distinctly flavoured and the starters in particular were beautifully plated. The menu has an excellent mix of classic British Indian dishes and some interesting/more unusual dishes without the amount of choice being overwhelming. Portions were decent sized. We probably ordered too much, ordering three main dishes between the two of us, along with two starters, a rice and a naan bread. However, it was so good that we managed to eat pretty much everything and we (I) ordered a second basket of poppadoms to mop up the remaining sauces.
Prices were pretty typical for Indian restaurants in Bath. We paid ÂŁ115 for effectively three courses for two people, with a bottle of Prosecco, and including a 10% service charge.
Iâd highly recommend eating at Bikanos and would definitely dine...
Read moreDuring our visit to Bath, we had the pleasure of dining at Bikanoâs Indian Cuisine on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was fairly quiet, which is understandable since it was Sunday evening and they seem to focus more on takeaway orders. However, this only made our experience more intimate and enjoyable. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were friendly, attentive, and took the time to chat with us, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Their hospitality truly stood out, making our visit all the more pleasant. The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic flavours and perfectly cooked dishes that showcased the best of Indian cuisine. Every bite was a delight, and it was clear that a lot of care and passion goes into their cooking. If youâre looking for a great Indian restaurant in Bath, whether for a dine-in experience or a takeaway, Bikanoâs is definitely worth a visit. Weâll certainly be back next time...
Read moreUnfortunately I can't recommend after my experience. I was nearby so ordered through their system. Half an hour later and had heard absolutely nothing in terms of if the order was accepted or not so decided to go to the shop hoping it was just a mistake. Was told sorry, system isn't working at the moment. Why it wasn't therefore taken down or had a note to say that on it was really disappointing. I was now 30 minutes over schedule and had to wait extra for it to be made meaning I got stuck in rush hour traffic as well. Once I had paid the exact same amount with no offer of discount or anything for the inconvenience, the food was made. After taking it home, I realised it was extremely overpriced. Just two small bhajis for £5... The curry was spicy and not particularly enjoyable either. To be fair, the food had good flavours but I think too strong for my personal taste. Was disappointed and wouldn't return based on this...
