Michael Spiers — Local services in Exeter

December 21- As an update to my previous review, I would like to add the following:- I went into the Exeter branch to look at watches and saw a Tag Heuer Formula 1 that I liked, Mark, the salesman was very helpful and spent some time with myself and my wife, discussing this and other Rolex watches. I purchased the watch and would like to give Mark a 5 star review for his time and patience with us. Thank you Mark. ...... I want to order a Rolex watch as I am retiring next month. So I visited Michael Spiers in April 21 and was told I would have to wait for this model, Jessica was most helpful, but would be placed upon a list called "An expression of interest". The area Manager George, sent me a follow up email as well. On 15th September, Jessica was off so I contacted George to see how things were progressing, he told me that "As you have not bought from Michael Spiers before, it is highly unlikely that we will supply you with this watch, as we prioritise our own customers first". I explained that I had previously purchased a Rolex from Torquay, before your company took over the Rolex franchise for the South West. He said that was not relevant to them as I had not made a purchase from his company. I was very unhappy with this explanation as his company have only recently opened an store in Exeter, meaning it would have been impossible to have done that. I then emailed him asking to explain what undertakings his company had given to the Rolex brand, regarding previous and current Rolex owners in this area.... That was 9 days ago, I have not yet received a response. I sent another email on Tuesday and have still not...

I am delighted with the service that I have received from Michael Spiers, Exeter. In the beginning I was hesitant about going into such a shop, but that all changed the minute I met a member of staff called Lee, and others who were equally helpful. This man is very professional and has great product knowledge. Asking for his advice on various different watch mechanisms, and brands was very helpful to me, and appreciated it had to be the correct watch for sentimental reasons, and with a great deal of pressure from my best friends (for all the right reasons) I deserved to treat myself. Three further visits and my mind was put to rest.

When it comes to special purchases like watches and jewellery for whatever reason, I cannot fault Michael Spiers. They do as they say they will, and all the staff in the Exeter store are well trained in product knowledge. The rapport and ease of conversation made the whole experience much less stressful than I had thought.

What an amazing experience we had selecting our engagement ring at Micheal Spires. We were treated with the utmost respect and did not feel under any pressure to purchase. Mark was very professional and personable and completely put us at ease. Nothing was too much trouble and the remainder of the staff were all very supportive and approachable. Mark allowed us to consider multiple ring/ stone options and was on hand to assist with clearly a great depth of knowledge. We chose a sapphire and diamond engagement ring for my future wife. It is absolutely stunning and has attracted multiple favourable comments. I too made a purchase of an Omega watch to celebrate our engagement. We cannot recommend Micheal Spires and all its staff in Exeter highly enough especially including Mark who was an absolute pleasure to meet.
