A lovely place to enjoy some excellent food and drink! We were lucky to get a table as we walked in just before peak meal time. Next time, I will book in advance just in case!!
I was excited to try their Kinako oat latte (iced) which is wonderful. It’s made of roasted soy beans and has a nice soy/oaty flavour which I love!
I went for the katsu don and my fiancé got the hand cut beef don. Both were really tasty. I asked for less rice (-20p) and I didn’t manage to finish the rice, it was a very generous portion! I love the option for less rice even though I still didn’t finish it all!
And for dessert we got the chocolate cat pudding which was adorable with sprinkles as it’s Easter! Jiggly and cute! And the hojicha basque cheesecake was divine… will probably order that again next time!
They have a selection of handmade accessories for sale by I think Little May? Tiny crafted cats, sushi, even a mini frying pan with eggs and bacon. I think I’ve seen their art also in Julien Plumart? So sweet.
The atmosphere was calm and I liked the gentle background music.
Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Mogu Mogu and would love to go again and will be recommending to our friends! I was talking about this place to them even before I went today 😂
Thank you for providing a nice place to eat and drink, the quality of the food and...
Read moreMogu Mogu was suggested to be by a friend who showed off their staple cat shaped desserts. Immediately I had to go and I was so pleasantly surprised by it! The shop itself is very small, housing only a few tables but because of that the atmosphere is cosy and delicate. The staff are very friendly, showing off photos of the daily deserts and are easy to talk to. The prices of the food are very fair as well making it a spot I plan on frequenting. But if you're talking about Mogu Mogu you have to talk about the cat pudding! These are delightfully shaped, delicious puddings that change daily. On the two occasions I've been there I've had a coconut cat and a coffee cat. Funnily enough, despite not usually enjoying coconut, the coconut pudding was my favourite as the flavour was delicate and came with a delicious tart sauce. There is also ample classic Japanese dishes, one of which was a mushroom udon which my friend tried in our latest visit. The dishes are very authentic and delicious and I'm excited to go again to try the meals! There is a wide range of hot and cold drinks, so far I have had the salted caramel latte and the hazelnut hot chocolate and both were extremely delicious. Overall, MoguMogu is a fantastic idyllic cafe that is severely underrated in Brighton. If you're ever in the London Road area it is an...

🍗Oyaku don had me reminisce my times having ginger chicken with scrambled eggs on a bed of soy sauce/mirin rice! This was quite tasty but has quite a strong ginger taste!
🥩Beef spring onion rice bowl with an extra addition of egg yolk! That egg yolk brought some depth to the dish making it blend so nicely with the seasoned rice! The beef strips were difficult to cut but every mouthful of rice and beef just made the perf combination!
🎃Those special pumpkin croquettes were the perfect texture I needed after a long craving for deep fried appetizers! It went so well with the kewpie mayo!
🐱The cat pudding was the star of the show! So jiggly and aesthetically pleasing! The taste was like a vanilla custard but gelatinous!
🍵Freshly made matcha with proper ceremonial grade taste! Has some bitter afternotes but was so soothing!
I advise you to book in advance as tables are quite limited! Also food takes time to be prepared so I also advise...
