M&S Simply Food — Local services in London

We use this store regularly when we are travelling through London. However today’s experience was poor. Firstly, the items included and excluded from the meal deal are all mixed up. It almost appears that it is arranged so that it is easy to make a mistake and end being charged full price for all of the items 🤨. Secondly, at the tills there was a staff member literally shouting at customers to come to the self service tills. M&S have a strong brand based on good customer service and experience, and this definitely does not qualify. Take home messages; (1) Customers should pay close attention to whether you are getting misled by the labelling on the shelves, and take your custom elsewhere if you are, (2) Staff need to work on their customer interface. I choose not to be treated like that and will shop elsewhere if it continues, and (3) M&S need to consider whether this store is operating to their standards; this is...

For a Marks and Spencer store, this is actually quite a large food hall, sorry no clothing section but this is in a train station. Luckily there are clothing stores nearby but this has to be one of the better M&S stores out there. It’s best to come here at lunch time but there is just enough food for a picnic dinner in the station, but not a great amount of choice as the food inside is just the leftovers for the day. Food here is still expensive for a supermarket but is still cheaper than the restaurants.

One of the staff members was kinda rushing people into a decent sized self serve checkout, while another staff member came immediately when we told the checkout machine that we wanted a 40p bag. Staff are quite inconsistent with professionalism.

P.S. this store is so close to getting a 3 star review but because I liked the size of the store for a train station M&S store,...

Wanted to say that the staff at Paddington Station M&S have restored my faith in humanity. On Thursday 5th lunch time I visited the cash point just outside the store and withdrew £50 cash. I bought a few things in the store with a card not cash and when I was on train 15 mins later I no longer had the cash , and concluded I had lost it in the store or on the concourse. So that was that, all was lost. I traveled back into Paddington the following day more that 24 hours later. and having no hope at all that the cash would have been retrieved, I thought I’d go and ask at M &S just in case. And what do you know the staff of someone had found it, and the staff had put it in the safe and were able to return the £50 cash to me! Who’d have thought!!! All is not lost. I hope Management will treat the M and S team who were on duty on 5th/6th December...
