After a long overnight flight and a train ride to Paddington, I stepped out of the station tired and hungry for breakfast. I was looking for another well regarded breakfast spot along Craven Road, and got distracted by the chalkboard on the sidewalk in front of this place advertising an English breakfast. The restaurant was more than half full, which seemed promising. But there were some very unhappy customers that morning. I overheard at least two tables cancel their orders because the food was just taking too long. I myself had a couple of service related issues. I ordered a cup of tea, and was given a cappuccino. I sent it back and a hot mug of tea was soon delivered. However, I was charged for the cappuccino. It took over 30 minutes to get my full breakfast, although the toast came out fairly soon. The breakfast when I got it was quite good, hot and tasty, and portion size was generous. When I went to the counter to pay my bill, it seemed the waiter did not know how to operate the cash register. So I had to wait another 5 minutes or so for the manager to come to cash me out. The staff was friendly and earnest to serve the customers, but it seemed they were not well trained and perhaps short-staffed that day.

After a long day of walking through the places of London, taking a good (total) 5 hours to even get here: It was a great idea to sit down here and have a bite. And oh boy. First of all the food was awesome. The food was made by hand using fresh ingredients and you could taste it. I personally had lasagna but with feedback from my companions it became clear that the pasta and vegetables were prepared perfectly. We thought that the desserts were good. The Tiramisu here has a different ingredient than what we’re used to. (from the Netherlands). However the chocolate fudge cake missed a tiny bit of flavor in my opinion. Presentation. The portion size was generous, and definitely more than enough, and it wasn’t served messy at all. It took around 5 minutes for the starter to arrive (which contained some garlic bread), and around 10 minutes for the main course, and another 5 for the dessert. The experience here was definitely worth it. Don’t even get me started on the staff; They were absolutely awesome. They are honestly very friendly, welcoming and all in all were very humble people. My compliments to the Chef. Grazie ⭐️

Probably the worst experience I have had in a restaurant in a while. The experience started off well. Drinks ordered. Then service started to get slower in terms of ordering food. The whole time people would be stood outside looking at the menu and the waitresses would pounce to get them In. We noticed a family of six wanted a table so the waitressing team move a lovely couple who were just expecting their starters in order for them to squeeze in the 6 top. Along with this the gaps between the tables got smaller and smaller so that they could get more in. Food quality wasn’t great. Deserts were diabolical. Manager or what I presume was the manager allowed two girls to pick the music for the restaurant and then turned it up so loud. The music was completely inappropriate for a restaurant. Finally the bill came and I already have a 12.5% service charge on. The card machine was flung in our face. Told to add the tip. We said doesn’t the bill already include a service charge, we were essentially ignored, the waitress was not transparent about the service at all.

We are locals so we used to be regulars to this restaurant before our favourite waitress left. We recently went back a few times and observed that she was no longer there and we instantly knew. The service each time towards us has gotten more and more terrible, the other waitress is rude and mean as well as she doesn’t care about the customers, and the host Mario rushes the customers out including us that have frequented the place often. The owner is a very stressed old man which shouts at his employees and treats them with his feet right in front of the customers..this really put us off.., the same way he treats the place and customers, he doesn’t care about us. They are slightly racist stating the fact that we come from an indian background we wouldn’t be served and talked to as much as other white people, but I also have seen that they were racist and making racist comments multiple times towards black and asian people, although this shouldn’t be necessary when none of them are white and come from arab backgrounds/ none of them there are italian except the host so dont let yourselves fooled by them! We have recently observed that they always ask for an extra tip on top of the service charge which is an absolute joke as they don’t deserve not even the service charge for the service provided, I tend to believe all of this goes to the greedy owner from what we know from the people that used to work here, so don't fall into their trap. There are other places that serve better food and have better customer service right across the street, but be ready as they don't take cash but the service along the food is really amazing! In rest? I do not recommend this place, food here went downhill as well as service, and that rude and racist waitress should not work in...

Great location. Pasta dish was nice. Those were the best things about this place. Our hopes had been high, but sadly we will never be going again, and I suggest others do not waste their time and money here, and worse still, risk the aggravation of dealing with the terrible service and attitude of the senior staff.

The starter was like grey ooze on a plate; and since I recommend you don't go, I won't bother trying to recall what the dish was supposed to be. One main was nice, the other was passable.

Anyway, the service is truly terrible and doesn't belong in London in 2023. I don't think that this is the fault of the younger servers, but a combination of poor language skills and heavy-handed handed senior management. If your staff have made mistakes, don't come down on them like a ton of bricks and then decide you're also going to start shouting at the customers in front of everyone. It's embarrassing, highly unpleasant, and not something anyone, let alone a paying customer, should have to put up with. I really don't want to have to think about this place and that evening again, so I will stop. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews; they pass round QR codes for review sites, but only to people who they think will write good reviews. I don't normally bother writing unless I like a place, since so much is about preferences, but this place has to be an exception.

I urge everyone to walk just a minute or two further down the road where there are plenty of proper, established places, run by professional restaurateurs, where you can count on having a great meal, a good time, and to be treated...

If the service had been good, I'd have rated 3 stars, and that only because my table mates enjoyed their food. The restaurant was half empty and they had enough wait staff to have someone stand at the door to encourage clients in. The walls needed a clean, but the general appearance seemed good. We were encouraged to get garlic bread with our meal. When it came out about forty minutes later, it was a 6 inch by 3 inch pizza dough garlic bread, which probably took less than 6 minutes to prepare. People who had arrived after we'd ordered had already received their main courses at this point. Half an hour later, after a few vague assurances that the food was coming with no explanation as to the delay we received our food. I had the Penne Carbonara. It was swimming in a lake of cream... I didn't get the taste of egg I expected, so I'm wondering if the cook thought it's Alfredo with bacon? I ate it more because at this point I was hangry and it didn't taste bad. They apologized for the delay, but at no time did it seem like more than a token effort. The wait staff was not attentive or else it wouldn't have gotten to this, which is what makes the part galling. Most restaurants if there's been an issue they'll comp some part of the meal or give a rebate. Not this place. Not only that, but they charged a tip. So the experience was bad, but we couldn't express it with our wallets because it was written in the menu they'd do that. There are like three other Italian restaurants in that block, for...
