Imperial College Union Shop — Local services in London

The shop on the Sherfield Walkway on Campus was really good when I first started working at Imperial 5 years ago. There was loads of stock, lot's of variety, you could get a meal deal with a sandwich crisps and drink. Since the latest manager arrived this shop has gone so bad it is not really worth visiting. There is less than 50 percent of the stock in the shop now and no variety, but, what you will find is the same flavour Walkers crisps and hula hoops on spread onto multiple shelves to make it look like there is more stock than there is. The selection of drinks has halved for no reason whatsoever, you are lucky if they have milk the day you need it and now there is no meal deal so they want over £5.50 for the same amount...

Everything you might need in terms of stationary. I got all my notebooks and pens here, there was a satisfactory selection and the layout of the store is quite nice, even though it cannot accommodate more than a few people at once.

The clothing is decent. I think the designs lack some originality, and the prices could be lower for the students, but I like the range of different clothing items offered (hoodies, fleece jackets, short sleeves and long sleeved t-shirts, sweatpants, etc).

Overall it is a 5/5 for the stationary section as it is very handy to have it inside the university, but the clothing section could benefit from some new...

A good place to go for discounted stationary items of good quality or Imperial College London branded goods (although the latter is rather overpriced IMHO). There can be a bit of a queue if you go there between 12.00 and 14.00 due to college staff/students popping in during their lunch break, but otherwise you can expect to be served...
