We came here for dinner with our guests before going to Royal Albert Hall, and ordered our food shortly after arriving.
Right after that I went to the men's room to wash my hands, and somebody was already there using the urinals.
Once he is done, he quickly splashed his hands with some water, and left without using any soap.
Here comes the disgusting part, the same person was serving us food later on, and he pushed the fish in one of the plates with his hand as it was hanging on the edge of the board...
On another note, their charcuterie board comes without chargrilled artichokes despite the fact that they advertise it with chargrilled artichokes on their menu. They don't even warn you about it when they take the orders or serve, be aware if you have vegetarians among yourselves when ordering.
Overall, it is a nice pub with good food, but extremely poor hygiene standards. Teach your staff basic hygiene rules please.
And, despite all, I paid the service charge, because I want to believe that their kitchen staff wash their hands.
Edit: Based on your response, I understand you think it is okay for me to grab the doorhandle after this person, and go to my table to eat. Which 'highest hygiene standards' accept this phenomenon?
Please think twice before you respond to a customer, and be careful with your claims, especially when you cannot substantiate it.
There is no hand disinfectant anywhere near the counter where the food is passed from the kitchen to waiters for serving.
I know that because I left the toilet a few seconds after him, and he was already standing there to pick plates and serve food. I am not sure how he miraculously cleaned his hands right there in a few seconds.
Please don't come up with such excuses and ask your personnel to adhere to the hygiene standards at all times at the workplace regardless of which facilities they use.
You can prove whatever you need to prove to your hygiene rating controllers, but I believe my own eyes. As per guidelines, your service staff are not supposed to touch the food while serving either, but they do that anyway.
Moreover, kindly serve the food as you advertise it or explain what you cannot provide while taking the order, if an item is missing in...
Read moreThe Queen's Arms in South Kensington is a gem of a pub, perfectly situated near some of London’s most iconic landmarks. Its incredible location makes it an ideal spot to relax and recharge, though its popularity can lead to a bustling atmosphere, especially during shows or in the evening hours. Despite the crowds, this pub is absolutely worth seeking out—whether for a casual drink or a full meal.
Reservations are highly recommended for groups of three or more, particularly during the evening meal hours when the pace slows, and tables are at a premium. Lunchtime is equally busy but moves along briskly, ensuring you’re not kept waiting long. The tap selection is excellent, with a variety of ales to please any beer enthusiast. Harvey's Best Bitter on cask was a standout and added a delightful touch to the experience.
The food is where The Queen's Arms truly shines, striking a perfect balance between British classics and inventive modern European dishes. Each bite was thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. Combined with the friendly and attentive staff, it’s easy to see why this pub is such a popular choice.
Whether you're a local or just visiting London, I highly recommend The Queen's Arms. The combination of exceptional food, great beer, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit spot in the city.
I plan to return to The Queen's Arms every...

This pub is located in an idyllic cobbled mews in South Ken and is just a ten minute walk from South Ken tube station. . The Queens Arms was built in 1859 and is set amongst buildings originally inhabited by coachmen from the big houses nearby. These mews have seen celebrity with loveable British actors Sid James and Terry Thomas calling this place home. . This is a tastefully decorated pub which has a traditional feel to it. The pub has two distinct areas, the main bar and a cosy dining section at the rear. . The beer choice was pretty good with lots of craft and four cask options. I decided on a pint of Pravha which was a superb pint and hats off for being under six quid. The food here is elevated pub classics, fish & chips cost £16. . The pub was busy on this Saturday afternoon with a mix of punters from all walks of life. The atmosphere was great, really upbeat but relaxing. The service was on point too, the staff were courteous even though they were rushed off their feet. . This is definitely a pub for all occasions, it’s perfect whether you’re with your mates, other half or just popping in for a solitary swift one.
