Seoul Plaza — Local services in London

Never go shopping here with casual wear, pale look and shopping with a MUJI shopper. They will treat you as a thief!!

I have been a regular customer for Oseyo and Seoul Plaza for years. Usually, their pricing are the same with some items 10-40pence cheaper at Seoul Plaza. Every time, I will take a look and do a price comparison between 2 shops before I make any purchase. For same price items, I will buy at Oseyo as their quality and service is a lot better.

Today, I went this Seoul Plaza shop to grab some dumplings as I spotted that they are 40 pence cheaper per bag. All of a sudden, the security approached me. “Why are you putting things in your shopper? Why don’t you use the shopping basket? Take it out, place it here, go and take the basket! You have to use our basket” The Security said rudely. “I put them in my shopper because I am going to buy them and pay at the tilt. May I know what’s the problem? I did it many times for years and I can’t see any problems. The baskets are dirty and I feel uncomfortable to put food into a dirty basket.” I try to explain to him. He refused to listen and stopped me. Then, he told me to take everything out of my shopper. I am so mad and fed up with his attitude. I am feeling insulted in open public.

Obviously, he regarded me as a thief!! I can tell from his words. Then, I grab the food and rush towards the tilt, pay for it and I immediately file a complaint about their rudeness.

There are so many ways to handle this in a polite manner and decent way.

This is the consequence for me saving 4 x £0.40= £1.60. I will bear in mind and would not pay you for insulting...

Me and my friends have come to this establishment many times in the past few years, and have had a good time whilst there, but on Thursday this week we had encountered a member of staff who was quite rude and clearly was picking and choosing when to be pleasant with customers, for example, me and my friends were waiting in the hot food line, upon being greeted with so much of a look by this staff member he proceeded to tell us that the chicken was not halal (but every time we have eaten here we have been told that it is halal so clearly someone is lying and disregarding others beliefs and values) he seemed very annoyed by our question and even by other customers (who were also clearly of south Asian decent) not one word was spoken by this staff member and all he kept doing was looking at the floor and laughing, I didn’t think I would experience this type of racism in a place which is extremely diverse, will never visit again.

Edit: Me and my friends had visited the other day, we were told by the kind female member of staff that they were experimenting with recipes that’s why the chicken kept changing from halal to non-halal, she was very kind to let us know. However this does not change the review about the previous member of staff that was playing favourites and being obviously racist to those of south...

We encountered a racist waiter.

The guy who handled our payment tonight was shockingly rude. He didn’t greet us, didn’t tell us the total, didn’t look at us the entire time, and barely said a word—just a cold “yep” at the end. Even when we said thank you, he completely ignored us.

What made it worse is that he was very friendly and smiling with the non-Asian customers before us. We’re Chinese, and although he appeared to be Asian himself (but likely not Chinese), his attitude toward us was noticeably cold and dismissive. It felt like we were being treated differently just because we’re Chinese, which is extremely upsetting.
