Slick Willies really established high standards for what I think a really good skate shop should be. They were amazing!

I decided to buy my very first pair of inline skates during my eurotrip and got in touch with the store about the VAT return forms. Nick answered me very quickly! At the store I was very well received. Nick gave me a lot of tips and good informations regarding the skates since I’m a total noob. They encourage me to try the skates I was interested in.

As one foot was a little bit tight than the other (they said we all have a bigger foot 😂), we decided to order a bigger size, which took literally just one workday to be available. Backing in the store, Josh attended me in the best possible way. I was able to try both sizes of the skates and decide which one had the best fit, which took me ages! I could only arrive at the store late in the afternoon, so he was really patient with me. I leave the store way after the closing time. Josh also helped me with important information about the skates, wheels, bearings and protection equipments.

Like someone said in a review, I was also never pressured to buy anything in the store. In fact, they offer you the honest opinion they can have about what you ask. That is a really strong point for them!

In short, I really love the store and the attention they offer to their customers. I wish you the best! I’m looking forward to finally come back home and test my brand new inline...

Would like to first say that this shop looked like it had a wide range of cool rollerblades and skates, and that the staff were really friendly so I would recommend someone to go there.

The reason for my 2 stars though is because I came to the shop hoping to rent some rollerblades. I noticed on their website they had made a post about now allowing people to rent them again in May 2022, so went to the store. I waited about 10-15 minutes to be served because it was pretty busy, only to be told that they don’t rent them out because of Covid, and that other skate shops around don’t do it either. I double checked the site and it now said that renting was coming soon which was a mistake on my side for not double checking.

I wasn’t planning on checking other shops since the guy at the counter said no one else was renting them out, but my friend said we should try the London Skate Center on the other side of Hyde Park. We get there and luckily they do rent them out for £15 for the day! Great quality too.

The low rating is just for the inconvenience it caused me, and that I was told no one else was renting them out because of Covid. I recommend getting a sign that says you don’t rent them out right now, but even better to rent them out since “Covid” isn’t much of an excuse anymore after all the restrictions have been lifted.

Other than that 5 stars for friendliness and range of designs, would definitely buy a pair of...

I’m not much of a skater. I was originally going to order online, however I decided to go into store for some advice on what is ideal for me and I’m so glad I did. I know I could have called or enquired online but the customer service I received in store was second to none. I firstly spoke to Nick who I believe is the manager, that was extremely friendly and approachable. He gave me a lot of good advice to think about when it came to putting a board together. I turned up with my 3 year old daughter and he was very accommodating to us, even changing the TV for something for her to watch to keep her occupied and entertained whilst I could make a decision which is extremely helpful and understanding. Stephan was the person dealing with my order, he went downstairs a few times for me to have a look at some different boards and trucks. He was again very approachable and friendly. Using his experience as a skater to help me decide on a board that is best for me. He also put the board together for me which was a massive help. Both these two have shown me some of the best customer service I have ever received of all time. I left the store extremely happy knowing full well I will 100% be returning for either myself or for my daughters. The board we put together is amazing.
