Strand — Local services in London

Just walking this road you can be in no doubt where in the world you are. Red buses, Black cabs, Red telephone boxes and the odd bowler hat. The architecture is fabulous and mostly original. Much of the bombing missed this area and did surprisingly little damage that remains visible. Take the top deck of any bus plying this route and you are in for a treat. No commentry but also no extra cost than a local stop. So much to see and admire. ...

We spent the weekend here. It's very easy to get to, clean and greeted by a polite doorman. The staff are amazing and very helpful in directions and suggestions for things to do. The breakfast was perfect as well as all the morning staff. The room was small, though. Think we should have read what we booked, but nevertheless, it was perfect for our visit. The Strand ...an iconic from London England. I have visited many times by before, but this time was the days after our Queens Jubilees Celebrations. The whole of the street was adorned with the Union Jack and the place was buzzing. A fair amount of shops, but no Oxford Street. loads of places to eat and drink, right near the Embankment and the Thames. Lovely...
