Westminster Pier — Local services in London

An embarrassing service for London - the pier is being run by young individuals who don’t seem to be able to understand English.

There were around 100 people on the pier waiting 20 minutes to board a boat from Westminster to Greenwich.

When the boat came, these people running the pier let 20/30 people on a boat that was 70-80% empty, leaving a growing queue of people on the pier to wait 30 minutes for the next boat.

The individuals managing the pier would then repeat the process of letting only 20-30 people on, leaving most behind, to wait for now an hour total.

The problem? NOT ONE of these young people running the pier told anyone in the queue that they wouldn’t be making it onto any of the next 2,3,4 boats, moreover that all of the next three boats were each running 20 mins late, so in fact the third boat would arrive in 1hr 45 minutes. Unreal.

The people ‘managing’ the pier were content to leave everybody totally in the dark.

After a completely wasted 45 minutes and after watching two boats leave more than half empty , we left and took a taxi.

I took a boat from Cutty Sark and took it to here, Westminster, and I really liked the area around: The London Underground Station was right beside the exit of the pier; stood on Westminster Bridge as soon as you go up the stairs, and the towering Big Ben above your head. Great Pier next to Iconic Sights The Westminster pier is great and is located next to some amazing sights, such as Big Ben, the Abbey, etc. You also get from here a great view on the London Eye which is the other side of the Thames river. We thought this was a great way to travel across London and 50 times better than taking the tube. Yes it will take you much longer, but you will see some FANTASTIC sight on the way. Overall...
