Seahorse — Restaurant in Wirral

The place is obviously ran by someone who just has no clue how to run the place or manage staff, and I don't know who the 'chef' is, but maybe send him on some kind of cooking education program. The staff are rude, the place has a plethora of barking dogs in there and the service is bad. I ordered food which was grim and mostly cold, I also ordered a large candy crush desert that was to be brought at the same time as the main meals and that never arrived. I spoke with staff 5 times (FIVE TIMES) asking for the candy crush and it still never arrived. I mean it is not like I'm asking someone to compute pi into infinity or crack cold fusion, I mean how hard can it be to put some ice cream in a bowl, cover it with chocolate sauce and add some sweets to it? We paid 6.99 for the desert, and after about an hour and asking for it 5 times it still did not show up, we asked for a refund. then this snotty waitress came over, never said a word and slammed £1.45 on the table and walked off. We then had to ask for the remainder of the money. The 'manager' of that dump needs to get a grip and sort the angry, snotty and rude staff out. The food is terrible as well and most of it was cold and slop('chef' you should be ashamed of yourself and I would wager you are not a chef of any description. I would not eat there for free. NEVER AGAIN will I darken its doorstep. Imagine owning a business in a highly competitive market and then letting your staff destroy it from within. The place used to be ok(ish) and was always busy, but you can see the numbers dwindling as people wise up and choose to go to places that have decent staff, decent food, decent service and is not covered in flies and barking dogs...

It was a terrible experience.I had booked well in advance for 10 people for a family birthday celebration On arrival we were told that the reserved table was in error for 6 people only but that they could extend a smaller table for us We were shown to a booth table which had 2 smaller tables and a random selection of odd chairs added onto it extending across the pub The leather seating right along both sides of the booth was ripped to shreds. I was very shocked that this was the standard of decor offered to us and felt quite insulted that we were expected to pay to use such seating But we didn’t feel we had any real option but to go ahead and hope the food was better than the decor We all decided on our orders but when we went to the bar to order there was a long list of unavailable menu items stuck on the til The unavailable items included fish. My 89 year old mother and my sister whose 62nd birthday it was were both really looking forward to fish and chips. 2 of our party wanted curry which was also unavailable. The combination of the shabby seating, the adhoc tables and chairs added on and the poor menu choice all meant that we had no confidence in the quality of this pub We ended up getting take away fish and chips and sitting on the promenade -not the birthday meal we had all hoped for. It would have been nice if the food was served on time (within 15 mins) and not having to wait more than 45 mins before giving up and asking someone what the delay is, who told me they will "sort something out" before promptly disappearing never to return to me but to continue clearing tables. My child got his starter and things looked promising but it would have been nice to have been advised that we would then have to wait 40 mins between his starter and main and had something to occupy him whilst waiting for his food. Drinks served with food, and an apology for the wait and an explanation as to the reason for the long delay would also have been appreciated. As would being made to feel like a valued customer rather than an annoyance, and having food that's presented properly on the plate rather than thrown on. We waited 56 minutes from ordering to the arrival of our food. The chicken was dried out, as was the pizza (clearly microwaved for too long. Chips were like cardboard. Mushy peas were dry and the deluxe hot chocolate was basically coloured water (see photos). Tables should have been cleared of dirty plates and cups within a reasonable time but alas weren't.
