Where to start!!! When you are celebrating your brothers birthday (who lives 45mins away) and travels to your recommended restaurant Ellas Turkish Restaurant. Who has to get up for work at 3AM.
We booked a table for 9. We arrive at 5.30pm ⦠wait 15 mins for a menu.. (others eating, received a menu when they sat down) you then have to attract the attention of a waiter (only 2 on) being respectful that they are short staffed (however still accepting walk inās when they clearly could not service that many people with good time) to order drinks⦠you then need to attract the waiter again for the foods order⦠we then get the starters before we get the drinks.. we then have to ask for the drinks order⦠and only half the drinks order arrived and you have to go to the bar to ask for the remaining part of the drinks order⦠this arrives 15 mins later š¤Æ
We then are missing a starter after 10 mins of it not arriving.. that had to be made fresh as they were missed ⦠1.40 hrs later our main comes out.. 1 of 9ā¦ā¦.. we waited nearly 2 hrs⦠I asked where the rest of the food wasā¦. Mmmm blamed it on the ordering system. Said it was new and that the order did not go through.. I asked why only one plate came.????
We had two young children and one pregnant lady (due in days ) still not eaten.. after 2 hrs⦠we brought it to their attention and she said that we had to reorder our food again. She did say that we didnāt need to pay for our evening.. however our family members who had travelled needed to go back home due to dog commitments.. and could not wait any longer⦠However I wa atom upset and a set at this point to have sat down and have a free mealā¦.
The manager then informed me that they were short staffed⦠I then informed her that I have repeatedly said that I know it is not your fault⦠however when you are accepting walk ins and they have eaten and paid before you on quite a few tables⦠that was unacceptable..
I truly rate this restaurant as there food is amazing⦠however.. this evening you have destroyed an amazing celebration. That brought me to tears. I had to take my young children to Burger King so they could have food not too late before they went to bed⦠and family who had to leave as they needed to go back to their dogs, hungry.
This is just not acceptable ⦠I had family members including a pregnant young lady that had not eatenā¦
I am so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe restaurant is not the same as it used to be. Very disappointing. Some of the regular staff are still there but the younger new staff members were not very attentive to our needs!. We were a big party coming in with family to celebrate a birthday. When I contacted the restaurant to change the time of the table to an hour later it concerned me that they could accommodate us an hour later than the original time. I thought with it being a Saturday night , that we werenāt going to be able to change the booking time with it being a large group of us?! . The table layout was not very good and was not explained to us. And there were two smaller tables crammed in on either side of our big table! We were squashed into the middle right by where the doors were and we kept feeling the cold draft every time the main door was opened . The menu has changed, after being taken over , and is very pricey!! Itās not the same any more, as you used to get the traditional bread straight after you had ordered your meal and whilst you waited for your meal to arrive. We had to ask for the bread! A lot of the food was fatty and some of the dishes that had the traditional bread on, was soggy and not enjoyable. We had to ask a couple times to have drinks orders taken throughout our mealās as well. Not once did we have anyone ask if our meals were ok?! The food platters that are on the menu are very overpriced for what they are you donāt get a lot of meat on the plates. Itās more rice and chips and salad. Iām afraid we wonāt be rushing back to the restaurant any time soon as itās not the same any more! For the price of the meals you would expect good quality food., especially for the price that we paid . š It would be helpful for you to train your younger staff members up in customer service, as it felt like I was talking to a young kid over the phone who was speaking to a mate of theirs when changing and booking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirstly I just want to say weāve dined here a couple times and it has been really nice in the past but tonightās experience wasnāt good.
Food was just about warm. Served on hot plates that were cold. No bread that I assumed was always complimentary (it always has been when weāve dined here and the Prenton restaurant).
I ordered the Alinazik which in the description says āChar-grilled pieces of chicken or lamb (or mix) served on a bed of smoked aubergines in garlic yoghurtā when it come there wasnāt any aubergine. I questioned it with one of the waiters and he said itās mixed in the sauce. I was confused to say the least because it wasnāt what it stated on the menu. Plus Iv eaten here before and its grilled slices of aubergine underneath.
We were not impressed so quickly finished our meals. When paying for the bill the waiter kindly asked if everything was ok with our meal. I explained again what was wrong with my meal and shown him on the menu where it states āa bed of smoked auberginesā he said itās mixed in the sauce. They didnāt understand what I was trying to say, either the menus description was wrong or my food was wrong so I didnāt want to further the conversation complaining that the rest of the food wasnāt great either. I just wanted to pay and leave.
I cant see myself returning...
