Empty, awful,I know why it was empty. Would not return.could of been because of the time it was 2 to three pm but quite sad to see most of the other chains aswell were just as empty. The hungry horse after past experience wasn't a choice had a handful of customers in there literally.I expected more in the others.Food wise we went out of Prezzo and into the hungry horse against my better wishes.Heres my reason of what I think. Both are just as bad ,Prezzo, Ridiculous expensive in general for little food that just left us empty.I don't know what to say but the food is like plastic in both.Hungry horse chips were like over cooked fgs, there's no one in your restaurant apart from five people including ourselves .Get a grip chef, your bacon on the burger was so fatty you couldn't eat it.the tomato so thick and tough it was put on the side.the lettuce was a little brown on the plate .why do you prep old food ? Replace it with clean fresh .people are paying for it.The burger like rubber.well overcooked.i wasn't disappointed as I just know what to expect of these places. They don't a menu I like in general at Prezzo.its the cooking the same as hungry horse.Thr hungry horse prices are more reasonable I'm a way but Prezzo is not all that .The food is just tasting of nothing imparticular bland ,boring, small portions .Well that's definately 2 off my list.i went to walk past outside later on to find 2 girls at teatime 7pm ish as I'd done shopping ,sitting on the bench at the back of there were 2 girls smoking skunk. The smell is just awful.Pretty young girls wasting their natural life in a drug that's pointless.Anyway enough of that.none of it makes you wasn't to return to places like these.Beautiful looking venues and bland plastic food .That's what to expect. The pocket in some of them are unrealistic prices for such rubbish.i could go on but there no point .The food won't change it will close and bobs your uncle. At least the Grosvenor casino by Morrisons that closed down had good food ,good entertainment on at weekends,it was an assett to new Brighton. The problem is ALOT OF it looks nice but on eating there it isn't nice.shame really.I love new Brighton it should be better to venture into.iff they ain't making enough money your going to get old food bad menus .As a cook ,i would make my own meals an they were knocking at my door every lunchtime.i left 3 times was given 3 pay rises to go back. The people went crazy for my food they said when ringing me up.whats wrong with real foods that taste good.without good cooks or chefs your knackered .especially when top brass put same rubbish on their menus expecting high revenue.its not good enough.we need to employ chefs that do their own thing and invent some nice fresh...
Read moreMyself & my two friends came here for dinner on a Sunday in June as it’s one of the few places that caters for my friend’s many allergies. Usually the experience is good but I have no idea what happened on this day, it’s like everything that could possibly go wrong did!
We were seated quickly by who I assume is the manager (she was wearing her own clothes) which was great. Our drinks order was taken promptly and the drinks came within about 10 minutes, nothing to complain about. The same manager came over to take our food order, which apparently is protocol when someone has allergies, and that was that. Half an hour later we were sitting there with empty drinks as everyone else around us got there food but ours was nowhere to be seen. We called over the manager to ask where our food was and she said she would go and find out for us.
She returns with a huge list of food items they had run out of, including chicken, beef and pasta! We couldn’t believe it! As it’s an ‘Italian’ restaurant, literally everything has chicken and pasta in which was, in fact, the majority of our orders. By this point it had been about 40 minutes and we were starving so we ended up changing our order to a bowl of side chips and garlic bread each. We weren’t thrilled but just wanted to eat so that was that.
Another 20 minutes passes, and still no sign of our food. We called over the manager again as she was walking around the floor and she said she would go and check again, returning saying (and I quote) it’s just been done it will be out soon! Great. 15 minutes later and the food still hadn’t arrived. In hindsight this is the point we should have up and left. A waitress walked by us and assumed we were waiting for the bill, and was shocked when we told her we still hadn’t had any food!
She went to ask the kitchens what was going on and returned apologising, saying the kitchen had lost our order somehow and hadn’t even made our food yet! We were baffled- hadn’t the manager just told us it was ready and about it come out? So had she lied about that? Finally the food arrived and it was fine, the usual standard for this place but the service was absolutely appalling! Especially considered it was a Sunday, about 5pm which isn’t considered to be peak hours and the place was half empty! We didn’t have to pay for our food but still, probably the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant and I’ve eaten at a lot of places...
Read moreI don't often write reviews, but I have to for my experience here last night. What an utter disappointment. We were handed menus and then asked if we'd like to order some drinks. Baring in mind that the restaurant was not busy at all, we still did not have our drinks when they came to take our food order over 10 minutes later. £7 for a pint is rather expensive, especially when there's only one beer on draught, which was watery and not even filled to the rim. Then it was only at the point when were ordering what we wanted to eat that we were told that there was NO DOUGH and no lasagne!!! At an Italian restaurant!!! So no pizzas and no garlic bread! Very disappointing! I ordered a burger which I was reasonably happy with (£20 though which again, is pretty expensive really), but the pasta dishes that the others ordered were midiocre really. Then it came to ordering deserts, where we were told that there was no tiramissu, which again - was what some of us actually wanted to order! So some of us ordered other deserts and we all ordered coffees. Desserts arrived fairly quickly, and the person serving us (who appeared to be the shift manager) "joked" to one in our party "are you not having a dessert? That's terrible behaviour!", to which I thought that there's only one side that's been behaving terribly here tonight - and she would've had a dessert if there was tiramissu available!! For the price I did expect a scoop of ice cream with the cheesecake, so that was quite dry. So anyway, we'd finished our desserts..we sat around waiting for about another 10 minutes before I went and asked [the shift manager] whether they'd also ran out of coffee beans. She asked "no, why?", to which I said that we were still waiting for our coffees. Turned out that the waiter somehow hadn't ordered them. So she asked, "what was it you ordered? I'll do it now and we'll knock it off your bill being as you've been waiting". Anyway, when the bill arrived, I noticed that the coffees HAD NOT been knocked off the bill, but by this point I could not be ar$ed to query it, so we just paid and went. We've always given tips whenever we visit restaurants, but needless to say at this restaurant, we did not tip because we felt that they had done absolutely nothing to deserve receiving a tip. I will never be returning to this...
