I often stay at at the Courtyard nearby for work, so I stopped here for the second time today. I prefer to support local businesses instead of large corporate stores. Unfortunately, most of the beverages in the cooler do not have prices, which is annoying.
As I was walking towards the counter, the casher rang up my items without scanning them. I wasn't provided a receipt, so I had to ask for one. When I got back to my hotel, I reviewed my receipt and noticed I was charged $2.99 for a 64oz of Old Orchard Apple juice instead of a 12oz Topo Chico. I immediately walked back to the store and told the cashier I was charged incorrectly. She told me the Topo Chico aren't in the system, but that was the correct price. I told her I didn't want it if they were charging $3 for sparkling water. She tried to turn around to point at a sign that said "No Returns or Exchanges," but she couldn't find it. I told her I decided to cancel my whole transaction, and I'll call my credit card company to void the charge if she wouldn't. She then said she would have to call her boss. I stood there while she dialed, but she never hit the call button. She then told me her boss was busy, but I could exchange for a different item for a similar price. I grabbed a 50oz spring water, she agreed, and I left. I won't be returning to this store. I can walk to Whole Foods nearby, pay less for bottled water, and know exactly what I'm going to be charged without having to request a receipt after the transaction...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat little store. Nobody is ever rude to me there. They are actually very friendly. The only gripe I have leading me to remove two stars is that some of the items there are expired or old. I understand why it's "over priced" like some people were complaining about, but this is a self owned business, not a franchise. Of course prices are inflated. You are paying for the convenience of not leaving the circle. I don't mind paying that but please if anyone is reading this do your neighbors a favor and please get rid of your old and expired inventory. I will gladly pay an inflated price if you actually sold quality items. Red Bull's are always great. That's usually what I buy there, but be wary of the sodas in larger bottles. We bought a 12 pack of Dr Pepper once this summer and the cans had pictures of college football from last year. We also bought a 2 litter of soda from there and it tasted flat. Throw out all your old stuff (food included) and I will gladly change my review to 5 stars and I might actually patronize your store more often than "just for...
