The food was excellent. Leaving the bad review based on the service. I came in today and I ordered a chicken sandwich, a burger which I wanted to add bacon to, and a wrap to-go. When the food was delivered, the bacon was on the chicken sandwich, and the burger I was told I did not order and so I did not receive it. I ended up eating the to-go wrap while I was there and ordered the forgotten burger to take home. When I went back to order the burger again, I was a little irritated at how the guy took no accountability and told me I ordered wrong, so I mentioned he needs to listen better. When he came and delivered the burger the second time he made a point to tell me that I shouldn’t tell him to listen better and that I messed up the order and he made no mistakes. He also mentioned he doesn’t like confrontation while confronting me in front of my date and continuing to push about how I was the one who ordered wrong. I ended up telling him he was right and I was wrong so he would leave us alone. Being in the restaurant business myself, the customer is usually in the right. Even if I was in the wrong he should’ve said “I must’ve made a mistake, sorry about that”. When he delivered the first batch of food I also asked him for ketchup and had to walk up to the register five minutes later because it never arrived. So it is not hard to believe that he also messed up the order being that even getting ketchup slipped his mind. Lastly, the burger I ordered to go which I paid for the extra bacon did not come with bacon. So again, the food was excellent but the service was terrible. I feel bad for this place because a customer like me would be coming back routinely because of the food, which is the hardest part to get right, and now I have no plans of going back because of the guy at the register. If you are looking for great food and don’t mind putting up with an immature stuck up guy at the register, this is the place for you. Make sure you record yourself while making the order so if he gets it wrong and blames you, you can avoid the situation I had to go through. Btw, I paid 20% tip on this order which is somewhat generous for a place that isn’t really a restaurant with a typical wait staff. So if this is how I’m treated while giving a decent tip, I can’t imagine how I would’ve been...
Read moreA Must-Visit Gem in Addison! My fiancé and I came into town from Ohio to visit family for just four days, and on our very first day, we happened to stop into Dolce Paradiso-not knowing what to expect. And wow... we were completely blown away. The customer service here is next-level. The owner herself took our order and was incredibly kind and respectful. You could feel her passion and love for the place from the moment we walked in. The next day, we just happened to be walking by--and she came running out to say hello and check in on us. She even remembered our names! It honestly felt like visiting our own Nona--warm, welcoming, and full of heart. The shop is cozy and beautifully decorated with her family photos, giving it a very homey, personal feel. And the pastries? Unreal. Hand-made to order, fresh, and truly some of the best Italian pastries we've ever had. (Sorry Nona-good thing she doesn't use Yelp, or l'd be in trouble!) The coffee was rich and flavorful, and every bite we had was perfect. Seriously, perfect! But what really sets this place apart is the feeling you get when you're there. We didn't just feel like customers--we felt like family. Dolce Paradiso isn't just a pastry/breakfast shop, it's a full experience. If you're anywhere near Addison, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You'll leave with a full heart and an even...
Read moreTerrible experience from beginning to end. I had to go ask for straws. I had to go ask for syrup. It felt like I was bothering them.
The food came out cold, and overcooked. We took one bite and left. I would not recommend this place at all.
Edit:
I have never edited a review to a response from the owner but I will today. I spent $60 for 4 pancakes that came out cold and over cooked and French toast that were dry.
Also, we ordered pancakes, and it did not show any bacon on the menu, yet it came out with bacon. We have dietary restrictions against that. Instead of insisting of replacing the plate at that point, all the establishment did was take the bacon off the plate.
This had nothing to do with money, as I didn’t want a refund or for you to remake our food. You did not insist, you said “I will give you a refund because you didn’t touch your food.” How can food come out both cold and dry with only 30% of the restaurant is occupied?
While I appreciate the small effort on making things right, unfortunately this whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth for...
