Making a mistake as a business is one thing. Blaming it on the customer is a whole lot worse. We are beyond disappointed by our experience with (presumably) the owner of Northern Made Creations. My fiancé had brought my engagement ring in to get it resized to 5 1/2. When he came to pick it up, it was badly distorted unevenly (he expected that it would be more oval, which is normal, but it was much more than that). He asked them to fix it on the spot and they did fix the worst of it (including a visible knob), but there was still some visible asymmetric distortion. After this, my fiancé was hesitant to get any more work done as we had our Europe trip coming up - where he had planned to propose... but once I tried the ring on it was clear that it was not only distorted, but also the wrong size and bigger than the requested 5 1/2. We were traveling at the time and life got in the way, so we didn't go back to the business until a year later (also partially because we were hesitant after they hadn't resized the ring properly and we worried about giving this business another try). I finally went back - after another jeweler told me that they found the distortion in-acceptable and that Northern Creations should be fixing it). So I politely told the owner that the ring wasn't properly sized and still looked warped. Even though he had looked at the receipt, he started lecturing me for over 15 minutes explaining to me at length that I probably caused the distortion by "hitting the ring against a doorframe" or that I probably bought it like that (?!?). He sized the ring in front of me (which turned out to be over 5 3/4) and even though he had looked at the receipt which clearly stated that we had requested 5 1/2 (I have a copy), he still admitted to no fault and instead lectured me that finger sizes can change and fluctuate. He explained that their normal policy would be to fix it only within 7 days of service and that he proclaimed that he did not find it credible that they had messed up the ring (given that I hadn't come in until a year later).

He then explained at length that they could resize the ring again (to his credit(!) he offered this free of charge) but he also explained that they would likely be causing more damage because of the shape of the ring.

I'm incredibly frustrated, not just because they distorted a perfectly beautiful ring, but it is really upsetting that he admitted to no fault (even after seeing that they had clearly re-sized incorrectly) and then going about it in an incredibly accusatory and condescending, unprofessional way. I really had higher expectations for this local business and wanted to support them, but this has been a mere...

What a Find !!! In searching the world wide web for a special unique piece of jewelry I came upon Northern Made Creations in Anchorage, Alaska. The wolf pendant shown on the web site of NMC was the perfect piece. Not only is the wolf pendant uniquely outstanding, the majority of NMC's online catalog is equally unique and outstanding. I ordered the wolf pendant over the phone. Zach, the customer sales representative, was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful in answering all of my questions. The pendant was upgraded from 14k to 18k gold and a gold chain was perfectly matched to the pendant. The pendant arrived in Vermont beautifully wrapped. The piece is everything I had hoped it would be. It is Simply Gorgeous !!! My photo does not do this piece justice. Thank you Everyone !!
