It's no fault of the homeless and I have no issue with them here, because it's one of the few places they can go since the City under the previous administration couldn't get their shit together. So I wouldn't call it a good destination for visitors. I'm not saying you can't, but it's basically an encampment like a lot of Anchorage's open spots.
The thing that really pisses me off is that the last two summers, an organizer has put on a music festival and massively displaced those residing there. There's plenty of open space and greenery they could have used, such as Delaney Park or even at the State Fairground.
I'm saddened our State and City have come to this where we have a mass unhoused population, but I'm more sickened there hasn't been a solution to a problem like this. Did we forget our...

I was pleased with the design of the play structures and it was nice that there are three parking areas on all sides of the park, so you can access from just about any direction. Hit or miss on the outhouses... one was tolerable, but my kids wouldn't use it (they're pretty picky though). The pond is pretty, but the trails near the water were covered in bird droppings. Impossible to get through without stepping in a ton of it. Overall the area felt safe, but there were a couple less-than-reputable-looking individuals around at various times. Not my favorite Anchorage park, but the play structures really were fun and my kids (ages 1-8 years) had...

I wouldn't let my children play on any of the playground equipment, I've never seen the city wash it down have seen drug users all over it though, would be very concerned about passive exposure of drug residue or needles.
The goose poop is also a concern, people feeding the wild birds attacts over abundance of geese and ducks.
Ampathater is littered with broken glass from the vagrants as well
Well planned multi use park that isn't managed at...
