I had my gel polish soaked off. I soaked my nails in a bowl of some kind of acetone. After soaking, one person started by using a tool to grind off the polish, he was very gentle and took his time, it was coming off easily. Then some one else took over, different story, she switched the tool to a more rough grinder, and at times it burned and I had to pull away. Finally after that pain, she cut my nails "square. rounded" which looked terrible I had to file them myself later) so short the tips of my fingers are sore. Then she used an extremely rough nail file which cut one of my finger tips. After that , more pain with a hard buffing using a block which burned. I was in shock and obviously she was in a hurry...then 2 coats of clear gummy thick, old clear polish. I don't know why I allowed this to progress the way it did. I reluctantanly paid the $10. Plus a 15% tip. My nails are thin, purple and still hurt 2 days later. I had to remove the polish at home, file the damaged corners of my nails and apply new polish. Now I can wait for my damaged nails to grow out. Painful, crude treatment. I'm over nail salons. Never again.So,...
