I have been to il Vicino a few times. It has very good pizza and my daughter would have her last meal be the fettuccine! The last time I went I was a little disappointed to be honest. It's not the cheapest place a meal drinks and a couple deserts came out to $117. You have to order and pay before you sit down, which is not very much fun if not everyone knows what they want. Poor planning on their part. Also asks to leave a tip before you've received the meal. I paid 17$ tip, feeling almost guilted. I believe in over tipping when the food and wait staff is excellent. As well as under tipping when the opposite, along with a verbal or written explanation as to why.long story longer, they brought are food and my wife's pizza was not made right, they made a different pizza by mistake. Then the waiter tried to tell her to kind of eat it anyway like, "what you don't like artichokes" which she didn't. Sometimes you want to try new things, other times you go to specific places because you have a specific taste you need in your mouth hole. This was one of those times for my wife. They did fix it but I felt bad for wanting to eat in front of her and she wouldn't take a slice from me. Deserts are fantastic I personally love the flourless chocolate cake. While my daughter likes the tera mousse. Il Vicino is unfortunately hit and miss. Their clunky ordering before you sit down slows down the process and rushes you unintendedly. If they have take out. Perhaps that's the way to be eat here.

We celebrated my nephew's birthday at Il Vicino Wood Oven Pizza in Albuquerque Heights, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a large party of 12 and arrived 15 minutes early, but they seated us promptly. The ordering process was efficient, with each party ordering separately at the front. Our family of five shared a delicious cheese pizza, salmon salad, and a specialty pizza with Alfredo sauce. The house wine was a great value, but I opted for the more expensive glass at $10, which was well worth it. Our family in the party also tried the lasagna, salad, panini, and tiramisu from the rest of the family's orders, and everything was top-notch. We also got complimentary birthday dessert! It was very nice! What truly made our experience stand out was our server, Grigori. He mentioned it was his first day, but you'd never know. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided exceptional service! I highly recommend Il Vicino Wood Oven Pizza for special family events, date nights, or simply a delicious dinner out. We can't wait to come back!

What a fabulous find! Niece and nephew took us here today for lunch. When they were dating years ago, this was their favorite Tuesday night restaurant after work. We know why now. Food and staff are excellent. Kevin & Kevin were attentive and proficient. They told us that they don't often work together. We're glad they did today. They worked well together, for us & other patrons. Kevin 1 took our order when we came in. Kevin 2 helped us find a table for 7 on this first day of 2022. Unfortunately the pre-teens ditched us, and our lovely table for 7 became a table for 5. Both Kevins brought, and filled, drinks. They both brought our salads, pizzas, and calzone. Everything was so delicious. Husband and I devoured our 7 inch pizzas. He had the sausage and I had a pesto mozzarella pie with garlic and spinach. Niece and nephew brought home half of their salads and pizza. Not sure how much friend and pre-teens ate or carried home. We loved the ambiance of this place. Oven was unusual and intriguing. We didn't visit the bathrooms, but one pre-teen told us that the pink was soap and black was hand sanitizer. Good to know!

My first time was amazing everybody was being served with a smile on their face by every server not one person was neglected or ignored the food was great I talked to the manager about my experience and told him that I had a wonderful time and experience at his restaurant his name was don! Today I come back thinking I'm going to get the same exact treatment respect and courtesy as every other restaurant recipient in their mind you I'm the only black person in the whole entire restaurant and guess what I'm the only one being ignored my server keeps going around me to every single table asking them what he could do for them smiling and greeting them talking and laughing and having long conversations with them and bringing them things that they need not one time did he greet me not one time did he asked me if there was anything I needed anything that I wanted I had to keep asking someone else to help me because he refused to I asked for the manager then as soon as he hears me ask for the manager then he wants to come over and asked me what I was drinking as if he cares so I told him what I was drinking and he goes and gets it and just puts it on the table and walks away doesn't say is there anything else I can get for you he doesn't have a smile on his face he acts like he doesn't want me there like how could you be so bothered by someone who's just coming to eat because of the color of their skin is 2024 and people act like racism is still okay it was never okay to us but yet it's okay with you guys and regardless of how much money we spending at your restaurant we get treated like we don't matter and like we're not wanted I've never been to a restaurant where I'm completely ignored like that before this is absolutely ridiculous and all the manager kept saying was that they're not racist they're not racist look at me I'm Latino I'm not racist I said that has nothing to do with it you're not the one that I said did anything to me it's the person that was supposed to be serving me who was a bald-headed white guy never even told me his name never introduced himself to me never came to my table to check on me not one time until I asked for the manager and then he wants to ask what I'm drinking what kind of service is this I gave you guys a five-star when I first came there now you...

I really did not want to write this review but because of the way we were treated on a recent visit I want to let this restaurant and others know how I feel! My family and I have been coming here since the 90’s! We are regulars that order the same food every time we come in. The staff has remained the same for quite a few years with new servers every now and then. Our last meal was a “miss” — big time miss. The pizzas came out burnt and the salads were not what we ordered so we sent it all back. The staff KNOWS we do not like crispy burnt pizza crust, and if you look at the pictures of their pizzas posted on this website - they all look cooked perfectly! Not one picture has burnt (i mean REALLY black pizza crust) but apparently their oven has changed and now everything comes out burnt and that’s just the way it is now. This time when we sent the pizzas back the lady cook and the other cooks all gave me staggering glares and kept on staring me down the whole time while they remade our pizzas -why? We are your “regulars” we think of the staff like family and we always have been treated as family. Not this time and the remade pizzas came out burnt again! The way you cooks stared me down making me feel like a bad person was astonishing! You will not be getting our $100 a week any longer. I should have taken pictures to post but I did not. PS: Il Vicino, instead of being “sorry” about this bad experience, just work on fixing it! But the way you treated me, I never felt less...
