Went in store 11/9 to purchase a setting I found online. I already had a .8 ctw, and this setting showed online it held a .68-.83 ctw round brilliant stone.
Lejla told me they had to order a size 7 and resize (+$75) and setting the stone would run $59. I went ahead and ordered it bc this ring was exactly what my gf wanted. Two days later and with a $25 off coupon, I realized online you can indeed order a size 6 setting without purchasing a diamond online. So I'd also save on needing needing to resize but had to place a second order that evening.
Fast forward Nov 16, both orders arrive in store, and I even have a tracking number for the size 7. I go in store to pick up the size 6 and return/refund the 7 yesterday afternoon, 11/17. First, a man named Roosevelt, along with Leah, tries to up-sell me on setting the stone for the size 6, stating it's too big and will cost $209 to set it. Then, I come to find out the size 7 I don't need, cannot be found in store, where it was delivered the day before!
I get an apology but they should be able to cancel the order, whether they lost it or whatever. I didn't need it, and was told I may have to return to the store...no thank you.
I called my credit card company today to refute this charge as there is absolutely no reason they can't refund the order they've apparently lost. Jared has also lost a customer...I don't need to be told they don't have my order or can't cancel something they lost. The sales people were nice and helpful and I found a ring I liked but never decided on a diamond of course since we were just LOOKING. They said they could check to see how much he's eligible for in case he was to buy through them . They said it would not be a hard credit check and told him what he could spend. We left and that's it. Fast forward to 2 weeks later he received a BILL for $3,600!!!!!!! Of course I called and the lady Myra hung up on me as soon as I asked her why I was receiving a bill. So I called back instantly and she transferred me to someone in billing. He said he would take care of it and as far as we know he did but MY GOD!!!! This totally spoiled the experience for us and I felt horrible! We never officially decided on a ring and never walked out with a ring so why would we even receive a bill ! What's sad is that was our first time looking! We will most definitely not be going to Jared if they are that reckless and make that big of a mistake. And it's too soon to tell if this whole thing is effecting my bfs credit but if it does by all means they will hear from us again. So don't go to Jared unless you want to be billed for things you never even purchased. Total bummer. You would expect more from a "multi billion dollar company"....
