The first time my daughter and I tried this restaurant everything was wonderful. Great service, really good food, ambience was great and restaurant was clean. At that time it was definitely 10 out of 10 recommend. Amazing experience overall. We dined on a Tuesday around 330 pm. The server I believe her name was Kiesha, was definitely first class. She explained all the ins and outs of the restaurant, the food, and checked on us consistently, despite having other tables. She gave us recommendations and ensured all our questions were answered. The manager brought out complementary chips with Parmesan; which was delicious. We were told because we were first time customers, that was our welcome appetizer. Totally unexpected but a great touch.
I brought back the rest of my family on a Saturday afternoon (around 4 pm) of the same week. We were expecting a wait because it was Saturday but we got seated right away. The restaurant was not super busy, but there was some hustle and bustle. We got seated near the bar. Our server was Kevin. I do not recommend him at all. He did not explain the menu or take the time to ask us anything. I had to let him know that the rest of my family were new. Again he did not bring out sauces, or seem very welcoming. It took forever for him to come to our table to begin with. We actually asked a manager for our server. It took him a good 15 minutes before our drinks even showed up to the table after he took our order. The complementary chips brought by him, but only after I brought it to his attention, that they were new customers and needed to be welcomed with the chips. To me, it wasn’t more about the chips than the whole experience. I wanted the rest of my family to have the great experience that I did. So far that was not happening at all. We ordered queso which was subpar. I don’t recommend it. The texture was more of a cashew cheese than real cheese. Not our thing. Not much flavor. Presentation was great though. I ordered the cheeseburger. And my husband and son ordered the Baja burger. The food was great as usual. We had other servers step in for Kevin to refill drinks and bus our table. The manager Robert came to our table with an order of chips. At that point we had our food and we’re halfway done with it. We did inform him that we already got it because the server brought it. He left it on our table anyway. We did voice our concerns to him. He was very nice but I think you should have had other servers step in to ensure that the rest of our dining experience was up to par. We order dessert, which were great. Will I return after this visit, not anytime soon. It was very disappointing to say the least. I highly recommend the apple huckleberry open pie. Stay away from banana pudding. It was runny.
The two stars for service really go to the first server. She deserved 10 stars in...
Read moreI have been a loyal Lazy Dog customer since the Peachtree Corners location opened. I never once had a good experience at that location but I loved the menu and the food. When the Perimeter location opened, we were pleased to see that the level of service was much improved. When the Alpharetta location opened, they were absolutely the best of the best and we knew we had found our home away from home. We now know most of the staff and the managers and have been very impressed with the way that this restaurant is run. Sandy is our favorite server and she always does a superb job. This month, we have eaten three nights per week at this location and held a large family event here as well. After an unbelievably bad experience tonight, we will not be dining at any Lazy Dog restaurant ever again. In addition to our three nights per week dining in, we also pick up a to go order for my daughter twice a week. Tonight, we called in a to go order and, when asked if we wished to pay in advance, we replied yes but the phone went dead. My wife said that she had picked up many, many times and it would make no difference as they take your payment when you arrive at the to go parking section. We called when we arrived and the girl that answered said that she would bring the order right out and asked what kind of car we were driving. Thirty minutes later, we called back as we had still not received our order. The person that answered (Robert) was very rude and said that they would not bring our order to the car, that we would have to pick it up inside! I went inside and Robert, who said the he was the manager, was again very rude which absolutely shocked me. He then just walked away never to be seen again. Finally someone came out of the back and I asked for my order and he retrieved it immediately. I asked why it had taken 47 minutes to get my order and he said that the hostess "probably didn't know what she was doing." He stated that they don't bring out the orders until they are paid for. This has never been the case in previous pickups but we tried to pay over the phone and they hung up on us. When we arrived, we were told that the order was coming right out. Nobody said a word about paying and we knew they would simply take the payment at the car as they had many times in the past. I prefer to pay in advance because that seems to assure that the servers will get their tip. When I choose to end a relationship with a business where I spend $1200-$1500 per month, I feel that I owe it to you to let you know why. I sincerely hope that, at some point in the future, Lazy Dog will be sold to a group that knows how to properly run restaurants. I will look forward...
Read moreThe new Lazy Dog located off Haynes Bridge Rd in Alpharetta is opening on Tuesday 1/31/23 to the general public. I went to a launch of the new location of Lazy Dog this Saturday. The location is great, conveniently located in the Alpharetta/Roswell Area near North Point Mall.
When you walk into the restaurant, you will notice it is extremely well decorated. There is a large wood chandelier handing in the front as you walk in. It is beautiful! The front desk staff is welcoming. The layout of this location is very open, there is no lack of space.
The outside patio is even great in winter! There is a large heater outside, that left me questioning if it was really winter. It was so comfortable. Sit down and relax by the large fire pit and chairs. The outside area is dog friendly. If you want to watch the game, no problem. There are TV’s located inside and outside on the covered patio. The booths are very spacious. The bar area is great for a simple date or a get together after work.
The staff here is wonderful. Meredith is a wonderful manager and does an excellent job making sure the staff/dining experience runs well. The waiters here are very well dressed, kind, and attentive. Brandon was our waiter and he did an excellent job!
Great selection of alcoholic drinks. We tried the dark blue Hawaiian, it was so good, one was not enough! We started off with our favorite appetizer bacon candy. This is likely my favorite appetizer at Lazy Dog. Sweet, salty, and it has a slight kick to it. We tried the cheddar cheese curds tonight, which I would recommend. Not too heavy, perfect for sharing. For dinner we had the Ginger soy salmon which my family rates 10 out 10. Excellent dish! Very flavorful which came with rice. We also ordered the Southern fried chicken salad. This salad has a very generous portion and I think it could be shared. Plenty of chicken comes with the salad. I had the house club with sweet potato cubes (my favorite). The sandwich was larger than I thought it would be and tasted great. If you are looking for something lighter try the chicken tortilla soup. It comes with a large piece of light crunchy bread sticks (very thin) to dip in the soup.
They have a great variety of deserts. Strawberry lovers, they have an amazing butter cake with strawberry compote with vanilla ice cream. Very delicious! You won’t be disappointed. The chocolate brownie sundae is great for sharing, ask for extra spoons. Very tasty. We also tried the triple chocolate moose which is a smaller dish, but just as flavorful.
In summary I would recommend this great additional to the Alpharetta area. I have attached some pictures of the food/and new location....
