Best Selection of wine, beer and spirits in town. They have a popular speak easy Cellar 626 located behind the store... it’s open Thursday and Friday evenings till 11PM... Enter thru the store till 10PM... then you must enter and leave thru the back door. If you plan to stay past 10 it’s best to park in back. Smoked drinks are popular. Cellar 626 offers wine, beer and whisky tasting sessions by appointment and is available for rental for...

I first learned about this place during my wine and spirits class at Iowa State years ago. Each and every time I go I have a wonderful experience that I have yet to find anywhere else. The recommendations I receive are always spot on, the pricing is fair and competitive, and the staff (especially the gentleman who I assume is the owner) is always fantastic. This is a place...

The owner of this location was very helpful. I went in looking for one specific whiskey that they did not carry, however the owner was able to not only find me something better but explain the production process of how his recommendation is similar to what I was originally looking for. He was very knowledgeable, which is a rare thing to find in Ames...
