Today I was browsing in Memory Lane Antiques & Vintage downtown. A man entered the shop, his hair disheveled and his clothing in tatters. He was barefoot, and it was cold outside. "Do you have any shoes here?" he asked the owner. "None that you can afford," the owner replied with disdain. "We might have some in the back," the owner's wife offered.
