Well let me start this by explained my pedigree of thrift shopping. Although I'm just simply a straight man, my hobby second only to restoring classic muscle cars is thrift shopping. I've been to approximately 9 different Plato's Closets throughout the continental United States and thousands of regular thrift stores and consignment shops so I can walk the walk and talk the talk. That being said if I could give negative Stars, that's what this Plato's Closet would have received. I have to honestly say the only worse Platos Closet I have frequent it would be the one in Des Moines. I'm not sure why both stores stock thousands of blank t-shirts that can be purchased at Walmart dirt cheap and then put $12 price tags on them but that's pretty much what's in both of these stores. Now I do give them credit the store is very clean and for the most part organize fairly well and labeled fairly well. But I honestly don't know how they stay in business with the merchandise they have. I took an associate with me to introduce him to Plato's Closet and I talked it up fairly well to get him to go. When we got back in the car I had to apologize to him for wasting his time and made sure he understood that this was not a normal Plato's Closet. There was not a good selection of merchandise at all. That was the first thing I noticed. I fully understand that it's a smaller store but I would think that would be a benefit to only buy things that would sell fairly easily. But the merchandise is just playing who's going to go to a store and pay $12 for a t-shirt when they can go to Walmart and get the 3 for $9.99. I cannot believe how many Haynes t-shirts with nothing on them that were on the racks in the store. if I could give negative stars for lack of diversity of merchandise and price this Plato's Closet would get negative 10 Stars. And I'm not trying to be disrespectful but when the merchandise is that bad of a selection and diversity maybe the staff could possibly feel in and at least try and make the visit enjoyable. If these young ladies had not said one or two words I would have thought they were zombies. And let me clarify not looks cuz it's beautiful young ladies working there, but I think maybe two ladies said proximately 6 words to me the entire time I was there. And don't even get me started on what I was offered for my merchandise. Again I'm not a rookie in this business I make good money doing this as a hobby. but whoever owns the store if you're making money more power to you cuz I don't understand how. And you might want to check your men's jeans because someone is buying jeans that have been shortened dramatically. and a lot of merchandise was not in the right location so I actually had to go through every rack to find what I was looking for and then when I tried to pay for it that was a hassle so I just put it back and left. I think whoever owns the store could learn a lot from the store and Sioux City and Sioux Falls. And again I apologize for coming across ugly but this was a very bad experience. Hello. I am extremely angry I have went I Plato’s closet to buy/sell for over 2 years, it’s always hit or miss if they take your stuff or not , once time i brought a bunch of brand new lululemon and they didn’t take it. BUT they will take the most GOD AWFUL stuff like clothes with stains on them, and fake jordan shoes and sell them for full price, one time they sold me a pair airforces that were 2 different shoes, one was a women’s size and the other was a youth size, they look slightly different but I didn’t notice till I got home and when I took them back they said there’s nothing they can do but the lady said here’s a gift on me and only gave me 10 dollars off and took the shoes back when the shoes were 50 dollars, there prices are extremely expensive and there USED there gymshark stuff is marked the same price as it is online as NEW, but let me tell you about my experience today that ticked me off. Jordan I have seen her there for about a year, never a good experience she is not friendly at all, she treats her co workers terribly and same with the customers who walk thru the door. She doesn’t even know the rules at her own store. For years at prom season they will sell prom dresses because it’s honestly a steal so i thought I would take mine in today, Jordan said they have never took prom dresses, weird Jordan because your are incorrect, my driver license was 20 days expired but you have 30 days to renew it and I had my appointment the following day I didn’t think it would matter because i thought it was just for ID purposes to prove it’s you, nope she picked at it and said “this isn’t our policy but just this once we will take it “ She is just extremely rude even...

i came in today with a basket of clothes freshly laundered, in great condition and many still with tags on them. i also brought in a steve madden wallet and a brand new phanny pack as well as a nice pair of black heels. initially when i arrive they said that it would be about an hour so you could imagine my suprise when not even 30 minutes later i get a text that my buy is complete. i go up to see what they took and i was told they only took a couple of things. with no reasoning for them not taking anything vocalized to me. meanwhile while this interaction/ transaction is occurring the girls who i would think went though my clothing are side eyeing me and giggling. automatically felt incredibly disrespected. i wish i knew their names but i don’t and i wish i knew who checked me out for the transaction because they deserve praise and probably a raise. i go to look at what they took and the only things they took were american eagle. the things most worn out of my pile sheerly bc they were american eagle. i can honestly say im in awe. i used to work at this location and management then would have never let that fly. as someone who would love to shop here, i wear larger sizes and they never seem to have any clothing options for me, so u would think they would take more of the larger clothing that is in good condition. but i must be incorrect. poor customer service and honestly digested feeling leaving there today. on the bright side good will got a lot of awesome...
