AMI Outfitters Coastal Gear & Mens' Apparel — Local services in Anna Maria island

I was in town for a few days, looking for a shop to get some local knowledge. I went in, explained my situation, and asked for some good local flies. The fellow in the store offered a few of his favorites. I went out on the water, and caught some of the most beautiful speckled trout. My mistake was not getting the name of the fellow in the shop. The man was a delight to speak with, freely shared some good intel, and, thanks to him, I caught some wonderful fish. I respectfully treated the fish with care, returned them back to the water, leaving with the experience and pictures of a lifetime. This shop is everything a fly shop should be, please support them if you travel to this little...

This is a very nice shop! Dave and Jen (owners) are so pleasant and kind and knowledgeable. My wife and I stocked up on some great Patagonia gear as well as some flies and fishing gear. Dave made great fly recommendations and showed us some good spots to try out.

Fast forward to the next day… I broke my 8wt while fishing… made a return trip to the shop and was very impressed with the rod selection. I became the proud owner of a Winston Alpha + and it is my new favorite rod. Jen made me a great deal on some more flies too.

Wonderful shop owned by a really sweet couple. Will be returning whenever we come...

There is absolutely nothing unique or special about AMI outfitters. NOT a real "outfitter". Definitely a place to avoid! No wonder they had to close their 2nd shop - they are SO RUDE every time I come in! The owners are just rude and patronizing and this shop doesn't sell anything you can't buy online for WAAAAAAAY cheaper. Avoid this place unless you're a tourist with more money than brains.
