Update May 2019 I was struggling going up and down each isle searching for an item when completely discourage I asked the pharmacy desk. When Christina jumped out of thier gated area and so generously took me right to the item. I love that kind of superior service! Thank you Christina. You single handly give Wal-Mart a good image of customer service!
This Wal-Mart is my "go to" store. It's so close that sometimes I can pay a little more, to drive a little less.
Customer service: I find most of the staff very friendly and accomidating. There's only two people working at this store who I believe shouldn't be in customer service. One of the managers, everytime I deal with him I get the feeling he's just "Yes mam-ing" me and when he really doesn't give a #$#*! Then the guy back in gardening, who feels you've somehow destroyed his kingdom by entering and the nicer you are to him the groucher he becomes. Do us all a favor, retire! I would tell the manager But it would fall on deaf's ears, as already stated. I'd just get some really sweet apathy. But all the other staff is friendly and professional.
For it being one of the smaller non super super stores, it's well stocked, clean and friendly!
As far as the prices, I watch them jump thier prices from low to high daily ecspecially around the holidays they super seasonally spike. And watch that the price on the display matches the price you are actually charged. I've experienced large discrepancies through the years. So you can't always trust the marked price. Which makes this a lot of work for the consumers.
Security: you have the freedom in this store to shop with your cart in cosmetics while you can't in Victorville. But the top security shows up at the door when they check to see if all the items match the receipt. They really study this. But at least they are kind while checking!
Right now they opened the parking lot to more varieties of garden supplies. Wouldn't know too much about that since I avoid grouchy pants over there. I wonder how much money they've lost by me avoiding him since gardening is one of my thangs!
Return line: that line is always too long anymore so you rarely see me return things because I can't afford the time to camp out.
Other than those few things I am grateful to have this...
Read moreThe place is my go to in the high desert for Walmarts. The place is usually stocked up, fairly organized and the some of the employees are helpful and kind. The area isn't bad bad, but is progressively getting better. The return desk is a whole different ball game though, those ladies are 90% of the time on edge and unwilling to help. The lady Julie over there and the older lady with white hair are wonderful every time. But I've seriously had one of their cashiers take my Driver's License when cashing a check, and bend my DL back in forth till it split and broke with a line down the middle, then proceeded to hand it back and say she couldn't accept it! I immediately asked for a manager and they sent some incompetent untrained girl whos name started with a B to tell me they can't help me and won't accept my Broken DL so I have to leave. I told her how her employees broke my DL, it's on camera, and I want to speak to a supervisor or someone in charge. She said she was in charge and the only one there- and REPEATED that she couldn't take my broken DL. I was livid and called their customer complaint department, and the gentlemen agreed that was not ok, something needs to be done, took my info, and nothing. Walmart did nothing about their employee breaking my DL or the managers poor training and disregarding the incident. I used clear tape to hold my valid and current DL together, went in a week later and the 1 of 2 good employees took my broke DL and cashed my check. Walmart needs to figure this kind of stuff out because someone may react a whole lot differently when you break their belongings and then ask them to leave. Poor behavior and unskilled employees in positions they shouldn't be can inpact your company negatively. Also, Shame on your customer relations department for being liars and misleading, what a waste of money on a useless department that does nothing to help people. Amazon just got alot...
Read moreWalmart Supercenter on Amargosa is the worst Walmart store ever. First of all, the Cosmetics Dept is bad. The people that work there know absolutely NOTHING about cosmetics. The racks are ALWAYS empty no matter what time of month or season you are there! They never have aynything. I use the Kiss nails, and those racks have been empty for months! When you ask anyone who works in that department, they just tell you, "I don't know"! Plus the new system of not letting you take your shopping cart in there? STUPID! I am a cancer patient and suffer from neuropathy in my feet, so I use my shopping cart for support, it makes it very difficult if I can't bring my cart in that area. (The scooters for the handicapped are always either being charged or being used). Another thing that bugs me, the Frontier people who follow you around in the Electronics dept, trying to get you to sign up for Frontier services. They cone up to you and ask you how your day is going, as if it's any of their business! I hate being bothered like that while I'm shopping! Then, the security at the doors, they are too busy gabbing amongst themselves to really check customers reciepts! They don't even look at them, they circle the date with their highlighter and that's it. This is NOT a deterrent against shoplifting. Once I was shopping in the water aisle, a young kid comes rolling down the aisle on a skateboard, mind you, and stops, takes a Red Bull energy drink off the shelf, cracks it open, gulps it down, puts the empty can back on the shelf and merrily rolls away! No one saw him but me! That's where the security needs to be, out in the store, watching for that kind of stuff instead of harrassing people as they are leaving! I think that this is the worst Walmart ever! I gave them only 1 star, because you have pick something, but they don't even deserve one star! This Walmart store sucks!!! I'm going to shop at Target from now...
