UPDATE 1/17/2023: Since Target responded to my review asking me to reach out to them, I sent 3 emails to them over the course of December and never received a response. Seems they don't want to make an effort to make things right after all.
I'll begin by saying that the optometrist was very nice and professional and I would love to see her again, but unfortunately the rest of the experience has deterred me from going back. I went in for an exam, chose frames and ordered a pair of glasses the same day. The glasses arrived about a week later and I went in and picked them up. When I put them on, I instantly knew something was not right. I have been wearing glasses for 10 years and I have astigmatism that progressively gets worse so I know that changes take time to get used to, but I couldn't even read the paper in front of me. They told me to wear them and I'll "adjust to them" and I left. The next day I went to work and couldn't even read my computer screen that was a few feet in front of me. I called and explained that normally I would give myself a week to adjust but I wasn't sure how to do that when I couldn't even see enough to work. I was told to "start wearing them on a Friday after work and by Monday hopefully I can see the computer screen". So I did that, wore them for 6 days straight and they didn't get any better. I couldn't see street signs when I was driving, these obviously weren't correct. I called after 6 days, went in and they checked the lenses and said the lenses were correct to the prescription from what they could tell. I told them that I still couldnt see my computer screen and didnt feel safe driving and they admitted that they have been having trouble with the lab creating the wrong lenses lately after changing their process, so they ordered me a new set of lenses with the same prescription. They arrived and as soon as I put the new frames with new lenses on, it was a world of a difference and I could actually see. I told the woman who was helping me that it was instantly much better and she said "well yeah, the old ones weren't made correctly so they were never going to get better." Um what? Never was I told that they discovered my lenses weren't correct. Funny how I knew that from the first day but was continually told that it was just me needing to adjust to them. I never got an apology or any further indication that I was right and they were just deflecting me for over a week. Unfortunately I won't be back since their "lab" can't be trusted to make...
Read moreLatoya was not only competent in her advice to my wife, she was a delight to work with. While Latoya was working with her on some pricey new sun glasses I mentioned my wife's birthday was next week. After my wife decided not to spend the money and went on with her shopping in the main store, Latoya asked me if it was really her birthday? I said yes and she helped me with the sale and found a nice case to put it in. Then her boss AMRO grabbed his wallet, went into the store and returned with a gift bag and wrapping so she could gift wrap it for me...at his expense. He demonstrated customer service to the max in front of his staff. Meanwhile AMRO helped me purchase progressive glasses and sunglasses. He helped me apply my insurance benefits to maximize savings. Then explained the value I was getting relative to the quote I received at Walmart. The entire experience was beyond my imagination. I drove an hour to the store because we relocated to a city without a Target Vision Center...and I will gladly dive the hour the next time we need glasses. Thanks for a story I will share...
Read moreI had an exam at a different optometrist in Appleton, and bought my glasses online. I just needed them to be adjusted to fit correctly on my face, so I did not see a doctor here. Matt, the team member helping me out showed exceptional customer service. He gave me a very detailed analysis of the quality of glasses that I had purchased. He was able to point out the various ways in which they should fit and how they didn't. He was able to adjust them perfectly for my face and eyes. He did not charge me for the information and the work, but requested that I told 3 people about my experience. This is the best way I could come up with to reach a large number of people.
All told, I would stop going to my other optometrist, stop buying glasses online, and go to Target Optical just because of the excellent quality of service that I received at...
