AMC CLASSIC Ardmore 8 — Local services in Ardmore

Me and my fiance' decided to go watch a late show. "Snatched" is the movie we decided to watch. Upon entering the theater room we noticed we were the only ones, we decided to get "the perfect seats" which for us was about three rows from the top, dead center. We sat down and the previews started. I started to get a scent of something unpleasant. Us not having bought popcorn or anything other than a large Sprite, it seemed very odd. The odor grew stronger and more unpleasing. I looked to my spouse and asked if she could smell anything or if it was just me? She said she could smell something but could not place it. I leaned over my shoulder and took a smell from the back of my chair with no luck. I asked her to stand up as I smelled the bottom side of her chair. Nothing there either, until I smelled my seat bottom. That is when it hit us! The smell of urine on my seat bottom, not soaked but slightly damp, withing the day. My pants were a little damp, nothing too bad except the disgusting smell of urine. We moved up a few rows and decided not to let it ruin our evening and my spouse insisted I speak up to someone and tell them. I said if someone was out front when we leave I will! After the show we walked out, got a refill and no one was at the counter, she decided to use the restroom while I wait for someone. There was one movie still playing at this time and no one was up front. We left and went home where I changed and immediately washed my jeans. I am giving a one star rating because all the word going around on how great the remodel is supposed to be, we have seen no changes inside the theater rooms, only the lobby, no one goes to the movies for the lobby. The remainder of the one star rating is the smell of urine ruined the experience for us to enjoy the show, second the fact no one was at the desk when we were leaving the show. I would much rather drive to Gainsville, Norman or Durant to watch a show. I would take some notes on the cleanliness of the theater rooms over how the lobby looks. I would love to speak to someone and even show them personally which room and seat it was and have them get a nice smell of what we did. One bad experience is all it takes to change someone's mind. Update: I wish the best of luck. Don't look like ur going to be around much longer. Stocks are dropping so are sales. U shouldn't lie to the ppl that make u money JS. AMC before coming to Ardmore stated to our reporter at the ardmoreite that they were going to bring an IMAX reclining chairs and even a bar and grill. they get here and they pretty much tell the community we're going to make it a classic that's a bit of a spit in the face considering on how much money they make a year (which is public record by the way) they get here and they don't really do nothing they barely change up the scenery of the movie theater and gave us a bit more on soda and concession a total remake over needs to be done and I believe Ardmore should get what they deserve as far as the movie theater and that's something bigger with an IMAX with reclining seats not something that we walk in and we feel like we're in the 90s I've been in a smaller town with better movie theaters than this one. Have enjoyed many years at this theater with my family and friends. Not always the cleanest, and the food and drinks are up there in the price. Overall had really good times. Recently we tried to go watch a movie on a weekday like usual, so the theater isn't really crowded and we can get the seat section we love. Upon arrival we were turned away because like a million times before we brought our infant to catch the film with us. New policy says you can't bring anyone under 6 to a rated R like birds of prey. Caugh caugh. We think if your kiddos are with Mom and Dad you should be good. First time being denied. It was embarrassing 😂 we won't be back. Going to start having our movie night elsewhere.
