I went to rib crib after a long road trip and needed to stop for gas. This spot seemed like the only place open, clean and with decent ratings in Ardmore OK. I walked in and proceeded with to place my order with the hostess. 2 cobb salads, minus the chicken, cheese and bacon 🥓 please. I explained that I’m vegetarian so no meat on either. I asked for black beans instead of meat at which point I was informed that there were already black beans in the salad. There was a manager near as the host confirmed with her that there was a bean and corn medley that was added to the cob salad. Ok. Great! Can I order extra black beans on both. The hosts states sure, but that will be an extra 1.00 charge for each. Ok. No problem! I’m hungry, let’s eat! After waiting 25 minutes for 2 Cobb salads I get my food, tip the hostess and her partner more than 25% for my order, get to the car, open up the bag, no black beans on the side. I open the salad, no black beans, just corn. So I return into the store, I explain to the host that there were no black beans. Not the ones I paid extra for, or the ones that were supposed to be on the salad. She asked if I were sure? Yes, there were no beans, just corn. She returns back to the kitchen and brings out 1 small cup of what was supposed to be a bean and corn medley. (Which turned out to be spoiled). I remind the host that I paid for 2 extra and she goes back to the kitchen yet again and comes out to say that I would have to wait an additional 10 minutes!! So I ask her if she would just substitute the 2nd bean corn medley for baked beans and she goes back to the kitchen and comes back out and said the manager stated that’d be an extra charge. Wow. I then ask to speak to the manager. The initial manager who confirmed the bean corn medley at the start of my order comes to the host stand. I explain all of the mishaps and she slides the baked beans over the counter. I left feeling extremely leery of eating the food at this point. So we didn’t. I kept it safe with the French fries. Didn’t touch the beans - either order. I’d spent 41 dollars for 2 no meat Cobb salads fries and a lemonade. I felt cheated. Rather than dealing with it on that day, I called the following day and spoke to a Parker. After explaining the mishap, he apologized with genuine concern and took care of the situation with the utmost professionalism. Thank you for the fairness in the...
Read moreUpdate: 7 months later and still the same issue. And now one of the only things I got on the menu the super spuds are no longer super they say that they are giants spuds but they are just regular normal sized potatoes and it's frustrating spending $10 on a potato that you know they only paid $3 for a bag of them. Don't get me wrong there potatoes used to be Massive. But not anymore they're just plain Jane potatoes nothing fancy nothing jumbo about them. For someone who orders the potatoes every single time he comes in there I think I'll notice when the sizes of Potatoes drops dramatically. And I say that because the manager told me that they are the same potatos they have always gotten.....afriad not. I have pictures as proof of the size change. Like I said on my previous review they are really greedy on the amount of food they give you I can go to any other rib crib and now we have a swadlys bbq down the street and all of them are better and if you order a potato from them you're getting a large jumbo potato. Not this baby Baker of a potato.
This place has good food. But they are very greedy when it comes to how much food u get. I can drive to the gainsvill location and norman location and get the same thing off the menu and get more of it. But the food still taste good. And people...
Read moreSt. Louis Ribs didn't have any smoked or grilled flavor, it was like they were boiled, which kind of fits that there wasn't any kind of Dry Rub on them. There was no "smoke ring" from being slow cooked. They had a decent taste, but certainly not the meats I was expecting from a place specializing in them. Friend said the same of the brisket, it was most likely cooked too fast at too high a temperature, resulting in tough meat, instead of truly being done slow and low. (full packer cut of brisket should normally be an 18 hour affair, just fyi)
Sides were nothing fancy, could have been canned baked beans or homemade, decent taste and simple, but nothing to really write home about.
Cost was a little high, all things considered, but I would have expected more than 2 St. Louis ribs on a 2 meat plate. Servers were brisk, and while not rude, not really friendly, especially considering they weren't very busy. If the meat had been better, the cost wouldn't have bothered me near as much.
First time I have been here... maybe they were having...
