Audio Depot — Local services in Arlington

Wish I could leave no stars. Been doing business with them for a long time. Spent way to much money with them. Everything I go in they are telling me I need to buy something else which will fix what is wrong. Doubtful in my mind, but did it anyways. Last experience with them and the owner. Took in an amp to send off to alpine to get fixed, they told me usually they don't charge anything to fix and send back, great. I come in to pick up my amp, john has the receipt for me, no charge and I sign and everything is good. I go on my way. Two weeks later he calls me and tells me there is a bill for a $150 dollars that I NEED to come pay. I'm confused at this point because I saw the receipt from alpine. We go back and forth for a while, and I tell him I'll come up soon. I don't of course because I feel he is lying. I call alpine myself to see what went on, I recall then saying there was a charge for like $40 for shipping or something I don't remember, so they actually tripped my bill so audio depot could take some cake as well. I never went back and will never do business with dishonest people again. I recently went to expert audio and they are fixing all the problems that audio depot caused in the truck. I went in there and little did I see John from audio depot standing in their waiting room, he sees me as I ignore him. He then proceeds to walk up to me and say hi, so I am cordial, say hello and extend my hand to shake his. I then leave and come up to expert the next day to find out that John was talking all kinds a mess to the owner Jim here about me. No words to describe this business man. Holy hell these are some scammers. ANY REVIEW above 2 stars are probably employees reviews. First let me say I'm no pro radio installer, but i know how to research and follow instructions.After doing a lot of research and looking at other radio installation videos for my car I was confident enough to go ahead and purchase the radio online. I needed the dash kit,radio harness, and antenna adapter. I had called and the had the parts so i went to go pick them up. when i got there I was put off by the small and non professional unappealing messy store.when i walked in and we started chatting they instantly that i would NEED a either $100 radio wire harness or NEED $200+ radio wire harness this seemed absurd as im 99.9 percent sure that the metra cables are only about $15 so how was this possible? after talking for a bit and i tell them about the way i go about it the asian lady swore up and down that if i did that my radio would not turn on and i would fry my car and radio, then got a dumb co signer who said some words and as i sat there confused he didnt even bother to explain what he said exaclty was "yeah that's why" so i said F that i just want what i called for went home and installed my radio by myself SPOLER ALERT NO problems whatsoever nothing broke, my car runs, radio turns on and i saved myself $300+ if you include labor they wanted for installation. if they mark it up that much its morally wrong to sell people these products at such an outrageous price. this places is...

I came in to look for specific brand. The person at the counter asked if I had any questions or needed help. I asked if they had a certain brand I was looking for. She told me the brand I was loooking for was “traders village brand.” And that I could find it there. I wasn’t asked if I had any other questions or any other brands that I could look at. I did look around and they had brands that I could find at traders. For those Remarks I would be better off getting better service at “traders village.” The shop that installed my previous setup was a high end shop. And for being a “audio shop” not much to look at. I asked if you guys carried and brand, not where I could find it. There is difference in question. I own my own business too, but I know that is not a response I’d want someone looking at my products to hear. I never said you guys were a high end audio shop, i mentioned it because thats a place where I got my set up at. Needless to say, family friend matters are not part of the business. Stay Home. Mom and pop shops have certain values where People get treated a certain way. Not by sending them off because the brand I was looking for is too good for them and is a traders brand.
