Candyland — Local services in Arlington

This is a genius concept, especially given the location near the AMC movie theater inside the same mall. There is a varied selection of bulk gummies, jelly bellies, m&m's, etc. priced at $2.25 per 1/4 pound. It seemed clean enough to ignore the gross factor of buying bulk candy out of bins. There were even a few lonely bins in a "Sugar Free" section. The variety of bins are so exciting that you may miss the fact that there are NO scales available nearby to budget your choices. Pretty genius. Except for one thing: the sheer shock of the actual cost when the cashier rings you up risks repeat business. Two groups of young teens ahead of us were surprised and scrambled to borrow from others to cover it. The candy itself was not worth it. It tasted stale and some flavors were mixed in...

I would give 0 stars if it was an option. This store is absolutely disgusting and should be investigated for their food safety and handling practices. I will be filing a complaint with our local health department as well. They sell partially opened candy and act like it’s no big deal because it’s “how they receive it from the manufacturer”. Not only is it WAY overpriced to begin with, but I would not trust consuming any products here after noticing several partially opened and exposed foiled chocolates I purchased. There is no saying what the chocolate had come in contact with before actually being packaged into the bag. To go a step further, the customer service was horrible to deal with to try and get a refund. There are a million places to get candy from - choose anywhere...

My experience?? They way overcharge on their candy. The man at counter after I told him I was not paying the ridiculous amount he was charging for maybe 1/4 pound worth of jelly beans tried to add the jelly beans to my daughters purchase. My daughter is 16 and pays for her purchases. When he blurted out almost 40.00 for 5 sticks of rock candy I told her not to pay for it. I said what are you charging her for and he tried to charge her for items I said I was not paying for. Then he wanted to smart off and say I need to ask for price before I bag items. I told him he needs to put prices on candy and put scales so people can way items. Don't get an attitude with customers when you are over...
