Honestly, this place is all about the profits. We had nothing but problems from our short 6 month stay. We rented a 2 bedroom w/ garage. On day 1 we ran into our first issue....the dishwasher wouldn't work. They had their maintanence guy come out and fix it (we have records of that). Right off the bat, that put a bad taste in our mouth.
Secondly, we never had parking. We were told up front before we signed our lease that the 2 spots in front of our door is ours....yet we found ourselves parking in the guest parking because other resident's guest would take all the parking spots. We voiced that concern and then their story changed to it's "first come first serve"....that's fine we were willing to make due until the lease was up. Then our neighbor and his family would park right in front of my garage, front office wouldn't do anything about that either.
Next, the garage would fill up with water after it rained. We had the landscapers and maintenance people come out several times to try and fix it but like normal fashion they wouldn't fix it. All my contents that were metal in the garage were soaked and ended up rusting.
The biggest issue was during the summer. We could have the thermostat set to 68 and it would never get the inside temperature lower than 76 until night fall. They claimed nothing was wrong and refused to help. They kept telling us nothing is wrong, until we hired our own personal HVAC guy to diagnose the problem. Not only was the thermostat broke and in need of being replaced but the air conditioner would never cut off causing it too freeze up. They agreed to fix the thermostat but denied any AC issue (because it's expensive). 4 out of those 6 months we endured high MLGW bills due to an inadequate AC unit.
Lastly, the lady who did the lease signing with us said they would "prorate the rent on the month we leave if it ends up being mid month". I asked for that in writting and her response was "we prorated you on your way in, why wouldn't we on your way out? Just mention that you only had to pay 1 week of February when you joined and that will suffice". She couldn't of been more wrong. When it came to giving our 30 day vacate notice it was dated for September 18th. They said "you owe us until the end of the month we don't prorate".
Now the reason why I decided to put this on the internet...mainly to warn others. We moved out the same month our lease was up. We cleaned up, washed the walls, shampooed the carpets, etc...they wrote us a letter stating they are keeping our deposit and charging us $400 for a new dishwasher. That SAME dishwasher that didn't even work the very first day we moved in. It wasn't until we called that they said "it works fine but has a stain on the inside and because the stain wasn't there when we moved in, we owe them a new one" They are made to clean dirty dishes, not clean ones.
Paying $1,600/month, you would think we would be treated...
Read moreEverything was fine the first year when Kay was the residence Mgr. But after that my rent was raised every year and the place went down hill in every aspect.. There was dog poop everywhere you walked. , Trash everywhere on the grounds . The new manager who always looked disheveled and looked like he worked at McDonalds the last 20 years allowed the parking of trailers and boats and let tenants work on their vehicles and lowered the standards to the equivalent of a ghetto or trailer park. Every time you would use then computer center or gym , there would be free range packs of young kids roaming around the facilities disrupting everything, The new management allowed this as well, Cars without tags and/or expired tags were every where. I went to the new lady at the office to announce my move and she said Since i was taking a job and given adequate notice and therefore would not be penalized for moving a couple of months prior to lease renewal. When the time came the heavy set manager with no people skills that let the place turn in to a ghetto said in a curt and rude way she was wrong and proceeded to tell me I owed a outrageous amount of money. Not once did he apologize for her mistake nor extend any goodwill gesture for a tenant who had paid the rent on time for 3 years I would not recommend HallCreek Apts to anyone . Everyone I know that lived there had moved for the exact reasons and have had very negative experience living there. Ps.....on another review I posted ,Hall Creek responded and fabricated my exit strategy for my job and said I changed my story which is NOT TRUE. Their employee clearly misrepresented their policy. It just shows what they are made of when they can try and counter my review with lies to try to indemnify themselves to look less guilty. Watch and see how they respond in kind to this review. Will they take the integrity high road and admit and apologize with an organic response....or will they create fabrications that didn’t happen and try to absolve themselves and put it back on me. Watch and see. Either way , you can put bank...
Read moreI loved living here when I moved in 4 years ago. Soon after it opened. Kaye and the original team were positive, fun to know and made the place so welcoming. Then the management changed. Everyone is different but they were the opposite of Kaye. Indifferent and flat. I missed the family atmosphere that used to be. But what prompted me to add this review was when I moved out they charged me for stains that didn’t exist. I cleaned the place top to bottom. I’m a neat freak and kept the place immaculate. I never eat in my bedroom and inspected the place before I turned in the keys. Then a month later I get a note that I had to pay for carpet stains in a bedroom I never even used and definitely didn’t spill food or drink. But I had already moved and was out of state. It left a terrible taste in my mouth after an otherwise great experience. My advice, as much as they’ve raised the rent, just rent a house. To the managers, wish you had more...
