Staks Kitchen - Arlington — Restaurant in Arlington

Our family is a huge fan of Staks locations in both East Memphis and Germantown. However, our visit to the new location in Arlington was so below the level of food quality and service the other locations give. The place was swamped when we got there so we had no issue waiting for our table. We were actually seated quite quickly despite not being on their “waiting list”. The first thing I noticed was all of the trash on the floor. Straw wrappers, napkins, etc that hadn’t been swept or picked up. That’s fine. The couple in the booth behind us complained about their food not being good and grabbed the attention of most of the staff. They are super staffed at this location! The downside is, they’re mostly just standing around. Talking about TikTok and ignoring much else, but I will say the young girls working were pleasant. We waited FORTY minutes for our food. We had two kids single stack with a side of fruit, I ordered the protein pancakes with two egg whites and my husband ordered the croissant with sausage gravy and a side of grits. After 40 minutes, my husband’s grits came out with unmelted shredded cheese on them and his croissant sandwich came out drowned in gravy to where you couldn’t pick it up! My protein pancakes were so very dry and just slopped on the plate as well as my egg whites. Our food was not appetizing at all, came out on dirty dishes. The upside is, our kids were starving by the time the food came out so they were happy to finally have their food. The 18% gratuity added to the check was a real perk for such lackluster service and food equaling 89.00.

I ordered 2 eggs with hash browns and ham, it took quite a while to get our food, the waitress never once came back to the table to see if my husband wanted more coffee, I had to ask a different server for it, well we finally got our food and it wasn’t delivered by our waitress and you can probably guess my husbands food was nice and hot but mine was nice and cold, so I told her to just take it off the bill, I didn’t want anything else, my husband finished eating and then I had to ask a different server for our check, well they added a 18% gratuity to your check , so needless to say we won’t be going back, we gave a tip for cold eggs and a useless waitress. We went on a Saturday morning about 8:30 and got right in. Had a great server, Thomas, who had great energy and was attentive. I had a breakfast burrito and a pancake. Hubby had a skillet meal with pancakes. The issue was the pancakes! They were tough to cut and doughy tasting. They remade them very quickly and the second batch was the same way. No fluffy, light, delicious pancakes going on. We spoke to the manager to share our experience and she listened and said the batter might be off today and she’d talk with the kitchen.
