I went there today to try to sell a few items, was not looking for really a great amount of money but way more than what I was told or at least half of what I was expecting . I had to clear my closet because clothes I could no longer fit due to weight gain from surgery and I just didnāt want to give them away. The two items that they wanted to keep were only worth $9 and some change?? Which was a patent leather pants and top set and a fake leather skirt with the sides cut out.ummm it cost me more than that in gas just to get from my city to there. Iām not even sure if they looked at all my other items because some of the bags were closed and the clothes were still neatly folded as when I put them in there. Maybe if they would have gave me something for the rest of my items it wouldnāt have been so bad, but I was told that the items that they want/theyāre looking for are for current teens and young adults, or what is/was trending at the time, are you serious ??? alot of the items I saw on their racks were dusty, they were old, some of the heels had straps missing, and gym shoes were outdated and definitely worn inside and out and some of the bottom is missing?ā¦. Hmmm, So this is what young adults and teens are looking for? this is whatās in style or trending??? bite me, this is a joke. My items whether or not in style or trending, were a heck of a lot better than what was on your rackā¦still had the tag on most of my items So not understanding really why they didnāt take most of my items? The bras, ok, I could understand why they didnāt take thoseā¦I only gave two stars because the young lady when I came in and the one when I left were both respectful, look for other means to sell clothes if youāre looking for a certain amount of cash⦠maybe they only cater to certain kinds of people?? I donāt know. Not upset more of a disappointment that I drove all the way over there for nine dollars.. especially with these gas prices . Not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmanda was extremely rude. I watched her go through my things as I waited in store. She didn't even look at everything, she would pick a folded item up out of my bag and set it in a discard pile without even looking at it. My bag of purses I brought she didn't even open to see what was inside. I had several name brand items and several unworn items with tags still. She tried to tell me she's been doing this for a long time. I've ran a resale shop years ago and know how the buying process is, what she did is not it it. I make sure to not take visibly worn out or damaged clothes when selling. She tried to say items were visibly worn and that's why she didn't look at them. The items she took were the oldest items I had and left everything with tags, again without even being looked at. I won't be back and I'll make sure to tell everyone I know as well not to sell to you all. I seen numerous items on the floor that should have never been purchased from others due to visible stains and damage. You may want to review your current inventory. Very poor customer service and business. You may want to RETRAIN your employees!
Updated: I know what comes to running a shop you don't have to explain it to me. You all respond to your negative reviews like you know what happened at that moment in store when clearly you don't. Not once did she offer to go over anything she only tried to explain how she's been doing this for years. You must have heard someone else calling Amanda a vulgar name because it was not me, not once did I use a vulgar word while in your crummy establishment.. Apparently she's a problem employee after reading some of your other negative reviews....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday (07/29/25) was my first time visiting any Uptown Cheapskate, and unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location.
From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcomeāsomething Iāve never experienced in a store before. I wasnāt greeted by any employees, even though several were behind the counter talking and folding clothes. I tried not to take it personally, but I noticed four other customers entered after me and were all greeted and asked if it was their first time visiting. I didnāt want to jump to conclusions, but it was hard not to feel singled out.
While browsing, I overheard an employee take a phone call, and after hanging up, they spoke rudely about the customer they had just spoken toāloud enough for everyone nearby to hear. Iāve worked in customer service myself, and itās standard practice to keep those kinds of conversations private. This behavior was unprofessional and made me uncomfortable.
To top it off, when I got in line to check out, the cashier ignored me for about a minute, continuing to fold clothes and write something down. I stood there clearly waiting, looking around and at her. She finally asked, āAre you ready to get checked out?āāas if I had just walked up. Yes, I had been ready and waiting.
I also found that some of the item prices felt high for secondhand goods, and itās unclear who the target audience is supposed to be. Lastly, I believe a more diverse team of employees might help customers from all backgrounds feel more comfortable and welcome in the store.
Overall, this was a disappointing...
