I had a incident at my home that could have turned out very dangerous and I went to the Asheboro location to purchase protection for my home. When I got there none of the employees were knowledgeable on any of the guns. I had to resort to asking customers who knew what was best for home security. They took my id so I could look at a gun. The employees left me standing there and had my id hostage for about 20 min. When they returned they stated they would not sell me a fire arm because they didn’t believe I was purchasing it for myself. I explained to them, yes I called my husband to ask him which was best because the employees were not knowledgeable. The manager then told me that she was declining selling me a fire arm and returned my ID. Very sad day since we just had a very traumatic incident at my home, I have given dunhams a lot of my money in the past and will no longer be shopping there. They are overpriced anyways. Before I left the manager made what seemed to me racist comment, she stated “you have to pass a background anyways”! As if because I am Mexican with tattoos I would not pass a background. Was looking for a Coleman tabletop butane gas burner which their website showed in stock at the Asheboro store. Went there and couldn't find any employee other than 1 st register which couldn't help. He told me to 'find a manager'. I've recently had knee surgery and still walking with a cane. So I started walking through this huge box store to find someone to help me as there were none on the shelf. Finally found a group of Mgrs in the golf section standing around talking. I was told the website was only updated every 3 yrs!! And she complained to me, the customer, how inconvenient it was for them. I told her how sad, but whst about customer who travel to the store based on information posed on their website only to be told sorry! Won't go back. Terrible customer service. I came to this location in search for baseball cleats for my son. So I went to the show section and started with the size my son had. That size was too tight but I wanted a second set of eyes on it to be sure. I ask the female that was working and she came over and tried then she said she doesn't do shoes. So she called someone and they told they wasn't helping. So I left the store and went to Foot Locker so I could get his foot measure. They measured my son's foot and the Foot Locker worker went to DUNHAM and helped me to size his foot and find the correct shoe. We found a shoe now we need a glove and this guy was walking around i asked him did he work there he said yes. He said it will be difficult to size him.
