It's sad what this place has turned into. It's a classic corporate sell out. I used to love their food, and I keep trying to give them another chance every once in a while but I don't think I'm coming back. I'd encourage anyone interested in sushi especially to look elsewhere.
2)Sushi. I'm not a sushi snob, but I'm familiar with sushi in this price range. Price has gone up while quality has gone steeply downhill. You're getting stale rice, pieces falling apart, and somehow the blandest sushi I've ever had. I've had sushi with more flavor from gas stations and I'm saying this as someone who has tried every basic roll and half the deluxe ones from this restaurant over the last 5 years. They used to be so good.
They're also being cheap. Not only are they charging mid tier prices for low quality product, they're skimping hard on the ginger. First they switched to the cheaper kind that has no color, it's not pink toned like you expect from anywhere else. Then they started putting less and less. When you spend $14 on a single 6 piece roll, you expect a little heap of ginger. You don't have to go crazy, but you get a pile of pieces to nibble as you go. They give a single small piece of grey/green ginger. Im talking ONE thin piece the size of my fingernail. What even is that? Who on God's green earth looked at the pricing, then looked at what was being plated, and went "yeah that looks right"?
Some people like to put a piece of ginger on each piece of sushi, that's not an issue anywhere else except here. This is the ONLY place in or around Randolph county that's putting one single gross piece of ginger in there and calling it a day, but they charge more than half of them.
For God's sake, if it's an issue of some people not eating it, just ask if you want ginger. The people wasting it won't get it, and you don't screw over the people that like it. But I don't know, maybe that's not a good idea for you guys. I wouldn't put it past you to start charging $1 per tiny piece of ginger to really get every penny you can.
If this place ever works on upping their quality again, I'd love to come back. I've made a lot of good memories while eating their takeout. But for now it's just more and more of a disappointment...
Read moreMe and my family have gotten food from here many times, but tonight we made the mistake of going there after picking my daughter up from driver’s ed. We didn’t even think about the fact that it was going to be around 8pm when we got there and that is when they offer the $5 plates. We got in the line at 8:04pm and it took over 30 minutes to get through. The workers were piling on food for the people at the front of the line, which was great for them, but not great for us who were waiting 30+ minutes to get to the front. They were piling it high so they could run out. By the time we finally got up to them they were not serving sushi which is what we had stood in the line for that long in the first place and they only had sesame chicken and very little jalapeño chicken along with maybe one side the lo mein. I watched as the worker offered the rest of the pan of wantons to the ladies in front of me for the price of 6 so she could clear the pan out. I seriously doubt the rest of the line was able to get anything outside of lo mein because they literally had no other food available. My daughter had been waiting in line so long that she decided to just something that she didn’t want and honestly didn’t like because that is all that they had to offer. I get wanting to shut down on time but if you are open until 9pm then you shouldn’t try to make sure that you run out of the food beforehand. These weren’t the normal people that we usually see so maybe this has something to do with it, I don’t know. This experience just left a bad taste in our mouth and we don’t know if we will be eating...
Read moreAs a new inexperienced Doordasher, I arrived to pick up a customer's order. I was greeted by who I assume was the manager yelling at me that I should have arrived sooner and that I had said I had been waiting on my order prior to my arrival. Apparently I had pressed a wrong button on my Doordash app. As I'm still learning how to do everything, I did make this mistake. I attempted to apologize profusely only to be met with more yelling that I make them look bad and attempting to shove a phone camera in my face. I gave up on apologizing since I was literally being yelled at with no chance to respond and attempted to leave only to be followed halfway out of the mall with continued yelling as all of their seated customers looked on. I will from now on be refusing any orders from this restaurant as well as taking my own personal business elsewhere. They showed their true unprofessional colors today by the way they spoke (yelled) at me. I admitted the mistake I made and attempted to apologize sincerely but was met with unprofessional harassment instead of understanding or calm explanation. Everyone has to start somewhere and everyone has to learn. This is not the way any customer should be treated and I hope onlookers of the scene and readers here will take note. This woman is not friendly and should not be running a restaurant. I have never encountered these issues here before so perhaps it is just this woman who doesn't know how to properly interact with customers. I can't bring myself to support a business whose employees behave...
