This evening was my first time in the salt cave for a community session.

Things to note: The instructions to come 15 minutes early is for real. They run a tight ship. We went downstairs to lock up our electronics and put on our socks, went into the cave to pick a chair and led into meditation. This started promptly at the time we booked and stragglers would be required to rebook as to not disturb our session.

Socks are required. I was wearing socks and brought a second pair thinking that I didn't want to shove my salt covered socks back into my shoes. (I pictured sand or cat litter consistency) The salt on the floor is more like pebbles and rounded smooth. It was comfortable to walk on and no grains to adhere to my socks.

The pictures of the lounge chairs on the website are not indicative of the ones there currently, which I was thankful for. These are more plushy leather and more supportive than the flimsy poolside chairs shown.

The cave is regulated at 70 degrees. I thought i would have been comfortable with just my t shirt and joggers pants but I was a little cold. Take the blanket that's offered at the beginning. Better to have ot and not need it, then want it, and feel bad for interrupting your peace and everyone else's by getting up.

I had brought headphones thinking I'd listen to smooth music but the organic background sounds they play along with the sound of water flowing through the fountains was peaceful enough. Again, all electronics are requested to be put on silent and locked in a cabinet outside of the cave.

My experience: I suck at meditating and spent the first 5 minutes trying to quiet my mind, along with regretting not grabbing a blanket and cocooning myself. The next thing I know, I was woken up by the small chiming of a bell. I had literally checked out for 40 minutes and had no idea. I usually have very vivid dreams and I couldn't recall anything. It was that peaceful. Was it the effects of the salt and its mineals? I have no idea but it was an experience that I enjoyed. The cave was a unique environment and the staff and patrons were friendly. I'd recommend just to check it out...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Asheville Salt Cave on Thursday, November 9, and I must say it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. As a frequent visitor to this tranquil haven, I can confidently say that this place never fails to impress.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a front desk person who exuded warmth and hospitality. Their friendly demeanor instantly made me feel at ease, and their willingness to provide excellent restaurant recommendations for out-of-towners like myself was truly appreciated.

The salt cave itself was nothing short of extraordinary. The moment I stepped inside, I was enveloped in a serene ambiance that instantly transported me to a state of relaxation. The walls, adorned with Himalayan salt crystals, emitted a gentle glow that added to the overall calming atmosphere. It truly felt like a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

But the true highlight of my visit was the massage. The skilled therapists at the Asheville Salt Cave have an innate ability to melt away tension and stress. Their expert hands worked magic on my tired muscles, leaving me feeling rejuvenated and utterly blissful. It was the perfect complement to the tranquil environment of the salt cave.

As someone who has been visiting Asheville for years, I can confidently say that the Asheville Salt Cave is a must-visit destination. It has become a ritual for me to include a visit to this sanctuary every time I come to town. The combination of the friendly staff, the incredible salt cave experience, and the top-notch massages make it an unforgettable experience.

If you're looking for a place to escape, unwind, and recharge, I highly recommend making a trip to the Asheville Salt Cave. It is a hidden gem that will leave you feeling refreshed, renewed, and eagerly planning...

3 stars let me say this is being honest about my experience. I thought the staff were kind and the place was clean however I’m rating this as an experience as a whole.

First the website lacks any real information and is difficult to book. When you try to call, you get a generic answering machine that tells you to email. This was a little frustrating when trying to figure out what order to book multiple services in. Not to mention you’re paying 100% booking up front with no customer service. The website also lacked any information about how to prepare for your services, what to bring or expect etc which made planning challenging. I thought we would get a email that said “make sure you have this (bathing suit, hydrate well) but there was nothing.

If I could give the hammam bath 5 stars I would. That in itself was a 5 star experience, however I should warn you to make sure you are well hydrated! (Also I think that part of booking these services should include an email with this info, which it did not). There is a dry room where you can disrobe and prepare to go in the steam room. The room was hotter than I expected in a good way, and after about 30 minutes my partner an I were utilizing the cold water exposure thoroughly. It turned out to be the highlight of our trip and we will come back for another session!

The massages were mediocre at best for my partner and I. We would not book another one.

This was not like a normal spa where you put on robes and slippers and relax between your appointments, we had to get dressed and wait in the lobby between appointments - again a detail that was missing in booking and planning.

If their communication and website had been better I would give...

On a long weekend, we booked 60-90 minute massages and a 45-minute salt cave experience here. Easy to find and park, with upper level access for massages and lower level access for the salt cave. Massage staff was friendly and attentive, taking the time to talk through focus areas and adjust as necessary. The salt stone massage is a unique offering if you’re looking for something slightly more special. The services were well priced. There is a small gift shop with salt stones, salt scrubs, and salt lamps if you’re looking to take the peace home with you. The salt cave itself was the primary appeal for this place, with a small group setting in the cave itself with quiet music and water features to help you relax while absorbing the benefits of the cave. You will need to wear socks you’re comfortable walking in, and expect to leave all electronics and shoes at the door.
