I just moved to Asheville from Charlotte with multiple years as a Chick-Fil-A employee. I know all of the rules, tricks and tips. This was my first visit to the Merrimon Ave location for breakfast. Beautiful restaurant. I approached the counter and gave my order. The girl at the register did not repeat it back to me, nor did I get a receipt. She quickly made my drinks and grabbed her stuff and clocked out to leave. My order was given to me by the manager on duty. The first thing I noticed is that my yogurt was stored with the hot food (a major no-no unless you like spoiled milk). Second my order was off. I ordered an egg and cheese bagel and an egg and cheese biscuit. They gave me 2 chicken egg and cheese bagels. I walked back to the counter to confront them and employees walked by but no one payed attention to me. After telling them what was wrong, they took back the two wrong bagels and placed them back on the rack to serve to the next customer who orders it (no-no #2, health code violation...food temperature has dropped and cross contamination...they don't know where my hands have been). They corrected my order but failed to find a receipt to see what was wrong. Bagels cost more than biscuits and there is a significant discount when you order something without chicken so I was overcharged. The manager on duty did not care to fix that, and instead sent me on my way. Now I'm stuck with warm yogurt, a watered-down cold coffee and less money in my pocket than I should have. Honestly the Chick-Fil-A located in the Asheville mall has better service...
Read moreI would expect any Chick-Fil-A, due to their extreme desire to make all guests feel valued, to be able to throw together a side salad without cheese from the drive-thru without a problem. However, I was told they could not do “special salads” through the drive through as everything is pre-made.
So I had to sit in the drive-thru because there was no exit and had to walk in to place my order, thus making my experience at this Chick-Fil-A severely unenjoyable simply because I suffer from dietary needs. It should have been no problem to throw together so salads in the time I had to forcibly sit in the drive-thru due to not being allowed to make an order.
The manager delivered my food and gave me a large fry instead of a medium that I ordered to ease my troubles and explained to me that they didn’t have enough people working to prep the salads yesterday evening. Being stuck in the drive-thru with no way out and having to walk in took way more of my time as a customer than it would have taken them to throw together two side salads.
I know the goal was to ease the transition for other people Hahahahaha customers behind me, but I felt devalued as a customer because of dietary issues I cannot control when other large orders that take even more time to fill are certainly not forced to walk in to place their orders.
I need this Chick-Fil-A to change their policies for future customers because the few cents it takes to go from a medium to large fry does not make up for being discriminated against because...
Read moreThis location always has problems when I visit. This most recent time, we waited 25minutes in the drive thru line to even order! (Thought this was supposed to be fast food.) the women taking our order had the worst attitude I have ever experienced at chick fil a. I normally like to have breaded chicken on my southwest salad instead of grilled. The women at the window did not say anything when I ordered like this at the speaker. Upon getting up to the window, we were told that they were very short staffed and could not do "specialty salads." I myself work in the restaurant industry everywhere in Asheville is short staffed but that doesn't mean you can't take two extra seconds to cut up a few already made breaded nuggets and throw them on my salad. At the window we also asked for Polynesian sauce. The women taking our order asked how many we wanted, we said we would like five if possible( we got a lot of food.) She said okay but when we drove away after receiving our food I realized we did not even receive a SINGLE ONE! I would've went back to complain or ask for some but there is no way to do so unless I sit in the drive thru line for another 25 minutes. I ended up having to visit two Ingles to separately purchase my Polynesian sauce which in turn made my food cold. I am continuously displeased with the service this Chick...
