UPDATE BELOW: Really disappointed with this place and writing this review in hopes that they’ll respond. I went to their store while visiting Aspen back in October of 2024, and spent over $1,400 in gifts for myself and various family and friends. One of the items I purchased — a necklace — was not available so they told me they would order and ship it to me. Come January, they reached out to tell me they couldn’t get the product after all but that they could send me a similar item. I told them I didn’t want the necklace anymore and would rather get something else with the credit from the necklace. I was told they didn’t know how much I paid for it and they’d have to wait for Hannah to decide how much she charged me for it. As another reviewer stated, they don’t have pricings on a lot of items and they don’t give you an itemized receipt, so I was not able to tell them what my store credit should be. I’ve called over and over again trying to get ahold of Hannah and now no one will pick up my calls. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that I likely won’t be back in Aspen for a while because it seems like they just don’t care to make my situation right. I’ve asked for a refund and also received no response. I would’ve been happy with a credit and shipment of something else but it’s not looking like I’ll get that, despite the amount I spent there. Although it was a lot for me, it seems like rectifying my situation is the least of their worries. So disappointed.
Editing to say that Hanna reached out to me after my post and issued me a refund. The experience there was great, so much so that I spent almost $1,500 in gifts, but I was taken back by the issue with the necklace. Now that it’s been fixed, I’m happy and hope to...
Read moreI was in Aspen for the Christmas holidays and doing research for my next fashion article for Third Coast Digest magazine and stopped into Joy West Collection on Durant Ave. In a tourist town of the world's rich & famous, where nearly every boutique caters to an exclusive clientele's haute couture desires, Joy West Collection offers the highest quality of high fashion faux fur for those people wanting the look of fur, but are on principle opposed to real fur (unfortunately PETA has given a bad name to animal lovers who also love fur fashion) or for the style-conscious but budget-constrained consumer, or both. Affordable (relatively), with a wide assortment of pieces, Joy's collection allows for adding touches of fur with accessories, or going wild with an entire fur ensemble. True to their animal-friendly stance, my Siberian Husky who was along with me but not happy about waiting outside while I shopped, was welcomed into the store by the Joy West sales team. The sales professionals at Joy's adored my dog while still providing personable and knowledgeable product information for me. My visit to the Joy West Collection was an unexpected enjoyable and informative experience and a highlight of my...
Read moreThis is a wonderful shop, where I have purchased many times. There is always a great selection of on-trend, high quality jewelry. One of my favorite shops in Aspen. However, the most recent time I went there (September 2024), the salesperson did not honor the pricing shown on certain pieces. For example, I picked up a ring that had one price on it, and she said that price was wrong and that it was higher. There was no way to check if this was true or not. It was all the more concerning because she did not provide an itemized bill at the end. This way of doing business does not sit right with me, as the customer has no way of knowing if the salesperson is simply assigning random prices at will or whether there is formal pricing being assigned to each piece. I’ve been a very loyal customer over the years, but not sure I’ll...
