Food was great, service was terrible. Our waiter was extremely rude. We had a group of 6 and were celebrating our friend’s birthday. We started the meal off by ordering cocktails, which we received promptly and the waiter immediately asked if we were ready to order. We were not, as we had just sat down so we asked for more time. In the meantime, our friend (the birthday girl) took a quick call from her elderly grandmother (who was trying to wish her a happy birthday) outside. During this time the waiter came back up and asked if we were ready again, we all were still holding and studying our menus and our friend was obviously missing from the table. We politely asked for more time. He seemed a bit irritated and abruptly closed his notepad, but we really didn’t think anything of it. Less than a minute later, he returned asking if we were ready again. I began to state “it’s our friends birthday” (and was going to finish with she took a call from her grandmother outside) however I was rudely cutoff by the waiter who stated “I know it’s her birthday you’ve told me three times” and then he walked away obviously frustrated that we were not ready to order. We were all shocked by this reaction and the fact that we were being spoken to like this as paying customers. We ordered as soon as our friend returned (she was outside for max 5 minutes). The food was good and all of the other employees were kind but our waiter made all of us feel really uncomfortable. It was very obvious that he was trying to turn tables and get us out as soon as possible. He made what was supposed to be a fun night with friends stressful and uncomfortable. We declined dessert because we were very eager to leave (we grabbed gelato from Paradise Bakery & Cafe across the street and it was delicious!!). Because of this terrible service I would not be apt to return to or recommend casa tua to...
Read moreCasa Tua is a place to be in Aspen. Make reservations a few days in advance! The patio area, where we sat, is wonderful and great for people watching. The dishes are definitely pricey, but it is Aspen, and everything is that way. All the dishes we had were amazing, and I think they are perfect portion. Me and my husband had 3 courses each, and shared everything. It’s a lot of food, but we like to try as much as we can. There is an impressive wine list and the cocktails are great as well. The bottle beer comes out in a bucket of ice, and the kids pasta is a very large size. We had the 2 of the specials, one was a beef carpaccio with Parmesan, fig, and arugula, the other special was a fish carpaccio, I believe with a ponzu sauce, both very tasty, but I do prefer the beef over the fish. We also tried the Pata Negra, which was really good but definitely not worth the price. We also tried the Cacio Pepe, Mushroom Fettuccine, and King Crab Ravioli. All delicious, I think our waiter said the mushroom fettuccine is the most popular dish and I can see why. For dessert we ordered the Hazelnut Gelato for 2, it is insanely big, but I must say the gelato is so good. They actually pour it into the machine and make it fresh when you order it, so it takes about 15 minutes to get it. Service was very attentive, they had about 3 people working on one table, maybe sometimes a little too attentive. I think I kind of realized that they are trying to turn the tables faster to keep up with their reservations. I also saw that there was like 3 managers constantly on their ipad and phone watching tables and I’m assuming updating which table are close to done or not. Overall, I recommend it, it definitely fits in with the...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent visit to the Aspen Casa Tua was ridiculous. I’m deeply disappointed with the treatment I received in the Aspen location when I have never encountered any issues in the Miami one. This week, I went in 3 times to get a table, and was turned away each time by the host with a different dubious excuse. Not to mention that the restaurant was empty and there were many tables available. The staff’s snobbery left us feeling discriminated and disrespected. The first time that I went, I was with my friends and we had just finished a hike, so we were wearing more casual/ athleisurewear. However, since this is Aspen, everyone is dressed like this during the day. The second time, I was dressed up, I went it at a relatively early time for dinner, and was turned away because all the tables were “reserved”. I took a peak inside, there was an abundance of tables available. The third time, the host was very rude and did not even try to get me a table. Overall, it seems this restaurant selectively picks the individuals they would like seated at their restaurant, making assumptions about their clientele status based solely on their superficial judgment, rather than treating every guest with the respect and consideration...
