I can't say enough good things about Culbreth's. He is truly a professional and skilled at his expertise, while doing honest work for fair prices which is so hard to find these days. I first came to Culbreth's with a Seiko watch, and a few months later my mans chain broke. Now, this chain is valuable in more ways than one, given that it's an heirloom from his father. He had gone to a larger jeweler where he'd bought a ring for me, and asked if they could also repair his chain. They told him there was nothing that could be done for it, but he could melt it down for a store credit (which they then followed up with "I wouldn't recommend for what the chain is worth, though')! I told him I'd take it to someone I met recently instead for another opinion and brought it to Culbreth's. In addition to this larger jeweler saying they couldn't repair the chain without causing more damage, they took a week to re-size my ring. Culbreth's confidently said he's happy and capable of repairing the chain and also had one of my other rings re-sized in just over a day! Not only that, but he gave me an exact description of the repair in case it were to come loose again, to bring it back in. Professional, competent in his craft, and very friendly. I recommend him...
Read moreIf you’re looking to buy jewelry or have repairs this is the place to go. Customer service is fantastic and I highly recommend you visit this store to shop for all jewelry, diamonds & gold.
The owner Ed Culbreth is super patient and knows what he’s taking about, he is very knowledgeable and courteous.
I wanted to add my engagement diamond to a figure 8 free style ring that I already had. He rearranged the diamonds placing this diamond in the center and it turned out beautiful. He used my diamond wedding band wrap from my engagement ring and made me a diamond necklace, so I could still wear those diamonds.
I've brought several rings in to be resized and cleaned and they look like brand new when they were done.
He offers same day service on most repairs, which is a plus for me, I live over a hour away from Athens and this makes a convenience to me.
By far the best jewelry store that I've been in, I rate them top-notch (5) five star. Stop by to see him and tell him...
Read moreAwful. I went in to have frame for glasses repaired. First time in this store. The woman who came out from back did not say hello or smile. I asked about repair cost and if they offered any warranty on their work. Her response was that no one ever had a problem with a repair. That alone is hard to believe. I asked to speak to the repair person. She said he was too busy. She stated the obvious--that I could buy new frames. Then she said she had work to do and walked away. At that point, I was out of patience with such rude behavior and said "screw you" and I tore up the business card she gave me and left. She said "don't let the door hit you on your way out." Not sure what her issues are. Plenty of other businesses with good...
