To say I was shocked is an understatement. This goodwill is not like the other local goodwills especially the ones in Cleveland. Upon arrival I immediately heard the manager arguing with a customer about their policy of pricing and that the item would have to go through processing and she would not be able to purchase that item today. All the locations that I have been to will call for a price check because the whole goal is for cash flow therefore if someone wants to buy an item they will ensure a price check so that they can purchase it.. The customer was kind and understanding about the policy and ask to wait for the item to be processed but to no surprise the manager refused to sell her the item.. at this point I just couldn’t believe what I heard. As I browse through the store I noticed clothing items very unorganized, filthy, stained l, and had an odor. The most disappointing things that I had seen were that most things were overpriced to a point of more than retail price I know that goodwill is a franchised business and is known to help others in a time of need hence why they sell used items at a discounted price , this locations prices are not discounted. If I’m not mistaken franchised businesses follow the rules of corporate… at least to my understanding and if that is not the case then I apologize. This location does not follow any of those rules. I’ve attached images of examples of overpriced items, disorganization, clutter and I’m hoping that something will actually be done about this as I have left a review before I’ve sent emails and never been contacted about this exact location. So I gave it another shot hoping that maybe something was done but I seen the same lady working there as before and was quite surprised that someone or should I say a business, would allow someone like her to represent them and continue working knowing that they are damaging the reputation and success of this business. I would really appreciate if someone would contact me and let me know that this issue is being...
Read moreThis used to be a wonderful Goodwill to shop at. However, the last experience I had was absolutely horrible. Not only was the staff extremely rude to me, but I also encountered an issue with a glass Tupperware I picked up with its original lid. While I was checking out with several items worth $108.00, the last thing they tried to ring up was missing the price. The cashier informed me that she couldn't sell it without a price.
I politely asked if she could ask the manager to price it for me because I wanted to purchase it, but she refused and said it would have to be reprocessed. I was surprised by this response since it was just an older Tupperware, not a piece of jewelry. Despite my attempts to reason with the cashier, she didn't budge, and I couldn't buy it during that transaction.
As I continued to pay for my overpriced Goodwill items, I left the store feeling disappointed. This experience wasn't just about the fact that they refused to price the item for me; it was the overall rudeness and lack of empathy during the conversation. To my dismay, the manager yelled all this information from the back, making it audible to the entire store.
It's disheartening because I have been a regular donor and shopper at this location, but this incident has made me reconsider. I won't be donating or shopping at this store anymore. I don't mind driving to Cleveland or elsewhere to find a better shopping experience. I wanted to share my experience in the hope that it could lead to...
Read moreSuper bummed about this place. It’s a false sense of hope to walk into a second hand store thinking maybe some decent items would be in a fair price range, and then see the price tags. I have grown up thrift store shopping. I really want to like this place. Its spaced out area, bright lights with tall ceilings make for a great venue. Unfortunately, their protocol caused a terrible experience for me and I don’t want to go back. I found a sweater I liked (mind you it had holes in it). Something about the sweater just felt so comforting. I walked up to the register and behold there was no tag on said sweater. The older lady then said she couldn’t sell it to me. It had to be “reprocessed”. I offered to wait while she did what she needed to do to reprocess it. She said I would have to come back for it the next day. I offered her $10 if she let me have it. She grabbed the sweater out of my hands and said she had to follow protocol. I stood there shocked. The name of this store is “Good Will” but it should be called “Bad Intentions.” I came back the next morning at opening, which is a 20 minute drive and bought the freaking sweater after hunting it down for 30 minutes for a whopping $3. Management::: I hope you see this message. Please spend time to train your employees to do business wisely and treat your customers with respect. I can’t waste time in this store with the way it is...
