On May 31st, 2024, at approximately 4:40pm, I visited La Belle Nail Bar located at 572 Hank Aaron Drive, Suite 1180, Atlanta, GA 30315. My intention was to receive a regular Pedicure Spa with a basic sugar scrub, which was priced at $34. However, upon arriving at the cashier, I was offered the deluxe or ultimate package, to which I declined and confirmed that I only wanted the regular package.
The cashier then directed me to the registration tablet to ensure that I selected the correct service. After completing the registration, I proceeded with the service. Everything seemed fine until the end, when the nail technician informed me that the total amount due was over $50. I explained that I had specifically requested the regular spa package and expressed my expectation to pay only for what I had selected.
I mentioned that any additional costs should have been communicated to me beforehand, allowing me the opportunity to decide whether or not I wanted those additional services. Unfortunately, instead of addressing my concerns, the nail technician walked away and called security, which was an extremely embarrassing experience.
When the security officer, Derrick, arrived, the salon staff provided him with a completely false account of what had transpired. They claimed that they had informed me of all the pricing before providing the services, and that I had agreed to the charges. In response, I requested that the manager review the security camera footage to verify the truth of the situation, as she had previously mentioned the ability to do so.
However, despite my request, the manager refused to review the camera footage. I emphasized that this situation was highly embarrassing and expressed my disappointment in how I was being treated. The manager's response was dismissive, stating that everyone in the salon was watching the altercation. I acknowledged that the attention was indeed uncomfortable, but clarified that I should not have been put in this situation in the first place.
At that point, the manager instructed another staff member to charge me the originally agreed-upon amount of $34, but also added my name to a blacklist, effectively banning me from returning to the establishment. I then turned to the African American security guard and expressed my disbelief at the manager's actions, highlighting that this was retaliatory behavior without any valid reason.
I want to emphasize that I had done nothing to warrant such treatment. I feel deeply discriminated against, hustled, disrespected, and treated in a highly inappropriate manner at La Belle Nail Bar. This experience was completely new to me, and I sincerely hope that appropriate action will be taken to address this issue. It is important for businesses to understand that such behavior will not be tolerated within the African American community or any community for that matter. I kindly request that someone contacts me as soon as possible to address this matter promptly. This situation was handle with the lack of integrity and respect to...
Read moreI've visited this shop about 5 times bc it's only half a mile from my house. Each time I say I'm not coming back, but today was the day! I went in for a "deep" french with designs on 2 fingers. I signed up for the SNS Mani +French for $63. By the time I left, my total was $93!!! How?? I went in and came out with the same shape nails... but I was charged $5 for special shape. How??? You didn't change anything. You didn't add any tips bc these are my real nails, but I'm charged for the normal shaping that comes with any nail service. I was then charged $53 for an sns mani (no French) which I didn't sign up for, then get this, charged $35 for the French and 2 designs...AND my deep French is off center. I asked what comes with a manicure? She said just the cuticle. Just the cuticle is not a manicure! Furthermore, they didn't cut or soak my cuticle, they only let the sanding machine hit the edges. I was sent out the door with acetone ashy hands until I asked for lotion....no massage, no nothing. For $100!?! I think tf not. This shop likes to sneak in additional charges and charge separate fees for parts of your service that should come standard. This isn't the first time they've done this to me but I can assure you it's the LAST. Because as long as oxygen is coming in my body and carbon dioxide is going out, I will never step foot in that crooked salon again. You've been warned. If you still go there, prepare to pay upwards of 50% more than what you signed up for on the iPad. Very bad business. Pictures of the crooked French. The French is almost as crooked as the salon.💅🏾 No emoji pun intended.
I'll also add, I wrote a good review for them about 2 months ago. You can scroll down and see it. I got the SAME deep French and nail extensions AND a GEL pedicure and paid about $110. So how is what I described above $93? Trickery!
Update: They reached out to offer a complimentary service as a good faith measure. I went, and Tank, my tech, was great. I still have issues with the pricing. Do what you...
Read more9/29 update: The owner’s rep called me this morning and was kind and apologetic. She recognized that I was a repeat customer and she’s committed to having a quality long-term business in the area. She said she would directly speak to the Tech about his inappropriate comment and invited me to come back and get my nails fixed in addition to a discount on a future service. I appreciated her calling and acknowledging my experience more so than any repair or discount she could offer. I’m amending my review because historically I’ve had an amazing experience at this salon and the phone call speaks volume’s about the business. They aren’t going to let one bad tech ruin their reputation and I appreciate that.
9/26 original review: Had the same person Serenity Hill showed in the photograph in her review. He didn’t make my nails even, then tried to tell me it was because of my nail beds. I requested an under nail filing and he stated “oh look no bbq sauce” he is clown and should be fired. His work is awful (I have a builder gel overlay on natural nails). This was my 4th visit and I will never be back. Pictures speak for themselves. Review 9/26...
