Attended the Atlanta Technical College graduation on May 10 and was extremely disappointed with the lack of organization and preparation. Despite the forecast calling for rain for days, the event staff appeared completely unprepared. Graduates and guests were left standing outside in the rain for over 30 minutes, and doors didn’t open until 10:30 a.m., despite a stated 10 a.m. opening time.
There were multiple lines with no clear signage or crowd control, which led to pushing and confusion as everyone rushed inside while soaked. There was no prior information provided about stroller restrictions, and the stroller check-in was located outside on the street under a small, unstable tent. I had to bring my drenched infant back out into the rain just to check in the stroller, then carry her for the remainder of the event.
No staff member could direct me to the nursing room, and when I eventually found it, it was blocked off with stanchions and appeared to be an unused, clinical-looking space—far from welcoming or functional.
Overall, the staff was unhelpful and at times rude, adding to an already stressful experience. The venue itself is modern and well-funded, but the event planning and execution were unacceptable. The parking situation was also chaotic, with no crossing guard provided, forcing guests to dodge traffic to enter the facility.
I will not be attending another event here and strongly encourage the organizers to reconsider their approach to logistics, safety, and guest...
Read moreI attended a friend's graduation here. I left home in a rush to attend, so I forgot to bring my earplugs and headset.
As it was loud, and there were occasional noise-making devices (like airhorns), I sought the restroom during the event. On my way there, I found a Sensory Room and took refuge in there.
A staff member then found me and promptly kicked me out, stating that I wasn't supposed to be there; citing that the room was a sensory room. I replied that that was the reason I was in the room, but no response was returned to my reply.
I later asked two different staff members if I could use the room. Both told me that no one was allowed in there due to it being a sensory room.
I didn't feel like arguing with people that have the power to kick me out of the building, so I stuck around for as long as I could before eventually leaving the building on my own.
Absolutely horrible lack of understanding...
Read moreI was there attending a graduation. I'm from NY, so the practice of not being able to carry my bag with me isn't a practice I'm used to. I've had to have my bag checked by security, no problem, but I physically had to check my bag at bag valet. My family, who lives in GA, told me it was for safety reasons. I could understand searching bags but not allowing them was....just not something I was used to.
I then had to throw out all of the snacks for my kids, as they would not allow them inside. 😳 Once I got inside, concessions were open. Which explained why I wasn't allowed to bring in anything but at that point I was annoyed. The facility itself was nice. The staff was very professional. The experience to enter the facility just...
